COO (Chief Operating Officer)

PowerQ is building a leading European position in independent energy procurement and energy management. With a growing international partner network and its own technology platform, PowerQ Connect, the company is laying the foundation for further European expansion. To realize this ambition, we are looking for an entrepreneurial Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will bring the organization, technology, and international operations to the next phase.

A versatile executive position for an analytically strong leader who gains energy from building, sees opportunities, and knows how to translate ideas into concrete results.

As COO, you are responsible for developing and realizing a scalable European operation. You lead the organization itself and ensure that international partners, processes, and technology work together effectively.

Together with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and the founder, who is also the majority shareholder, you form the executive team. You share collective responsibility for growth and business results. The CCO focuses primarily on commercial development and the expansion of the international network. You ensure that this growth is realized operationally and technologically.

The main responsibilities are

• European operation and scalability: developing an effective operational model through which new clients, countries, and partners can be reliably connected.
• Technology, data, and AI: providing direction to the further development of PowerQ Connect and leveraging automation and AI, in collaboration with the fractional CTO and external technology partners.
• Operational quality and risk management: safeguarding reliable energy procurement, contracting, client mandates, information provision, and quality standards.
• Leadership and organizational development: managing and developing professionals, strengthening ownership, and creating structure and focus in a growing organization.
• International collaboration: connecting independent partner organizations and realizing results across national and organizational borders.
• Entrepreneurship and results: translating strategic ambitions into concrete initiatives and monitoring the coherence between commercial opportunities, operational possibilities, investments, and returns.

You operate at the intersection of strategy and execution. You oversee complex issues, make sharp choices, and are simultaneously prepared to roll up your sleeves. You will be given the space to exert actual influence on the development and future of PowerQ.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and analytically strong leader (m/f) with demonstrable experience in developing organizations and realizing change. You combine strategic insight with execution power and feel at home in a compact, ambitious environment where not everything is yet fully developed.

You recognize yourself in the following profile:

• Experience with operational leadership, organizational development, and managing and developing professionals.
• A demonstrable ability to grasp complex issues and translate ideas into working solutions.
• A strong affinity with technology, data, and AI and the ability to convert technological possibilities into concrete business improvements.
• Financial and business insight, with a sense for returns, risks, and investment considerations.
• An entrepreneurial, pragmatic, and result-oriented attitude, combined with persuasiveness and connecting leadership.
• Experience with international collaboration, partner organizations, or platform development is a plus.
• Preferably experience with energy or commodity markets, or similar environments in which price risks, futures markets, and portfolio strategies play a role.

You do not necessarily have to come from the energy sector. Candidates from other complex, dynamic environments can also fit excellently, provided they master new subject matter quickly and have demonstrated responsibility for people, execution, and results.

Above all, we are looking for someone who consciously chooses an entrepreneurial building task. A leader who takes independent initiative, knows how to bring professionals along, and feels comfortable in direct collaboration with a committed founder and a complementary CCO.
