The role

Demand & Supply Planning intern - Nestlé Purina PetCare

Do you want to discover how we ensure that our Purina products are available to our customers at the right time and in the right quantity? Within Demand & Supply Planning, you will work at the intersection of commerce, data, and operations. You will translate market developments and customer plans into a reliable forecast and help to optimally align demand, inventory, and availability.

At Purina, we believe that pets and people are better together. Our passion for nutrition, animals, and their owners drives us every day to make the best of ourselves. We are a close-knit team that works together, has fun, and supports one another. With strong brands, we work together with our customers to build sustainable category growth and reliable availability for pet owners. But Nestlé is more than what you see on the shelf: we are committed worldwide to sustainability, health, and innovation. Working at Nestlé means contributing to a better future, on the table and beyond.

What you'll do

What will you do?

For the Purina Demand & Supply Planning team, we are looking for a new intern starting February 1, 2027. Do you want to learn how commercial plans, customer demand, and operational capabilities come together in one integrated planning process? Then we are looking for you!

As a Demand & Supply Planning intern, you will be fully involved within the Purina team. You will support both Demand Planning and Supply Planning and work closely with Sales, Category Management, Marketing, Finance, and Operations. You will analyze data, identify risks and opportunities, and help translate insights into concrete actions. In this way, you will directly contribute to forecast accuracy, product availability, inventory levels, and service to our customers.

Your duties include:

  • Supporting Demand Planning with forecast analyses, trend analyses, and improving forecast accuracy;
  • Translating commercial customer plans, promotions, innovations, and market developments into the demand forecast;
  • Supporting Supply Planning with capacity planning, inventory analyses, and availability issues;
  • Analyzing demand and supply data and identifying risks and opportunities in a timely manner;
  • Contributing to the optimization of inventory levels, service levels, and product availability;
  • Preparing analyses and insights for planning meetings and cross-functional business reviews;
  • Supporting supply chain projects and continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Working with SAP APO, OMP, Power BI, and Excel to translate insights into concrete actions.

You will thus gain a broad view of the entire commercial and operational chain: from customer and market development to forecast, inventory, delivery, and availability on the shelf and online.

Who are you?

You are analytical, structured, and curious about the world behind our commercial plans. You get energy from data and analyses, but also understand that the best planning arises through good collaboration. You ask questions, take initiative when you see opportunities for improvement, and can reduce complex information to a clear conclusion and action.

Additionally, we are looking for:
