Transport Team Leader

In our hypermodern distribution center in Nieuwegein, we ensure every day that our stores are supplied with products on time. Behind a well-stocked shelf lies a top-level logistical operation. For the KW transport department, we are looking for a Transport Team Leader.

As Transport Team Leader, you are responsible for the daily management of the transport process. Once the trucks are loaded, you ensure that all deliveries arrive at their destination safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.

You lead employees within the transport organization and work closely with external drivers, carriers, and other logistical partners. You maintain oversight, intervene when necessary, and ensure that the operation continues to run smoothly.

Your workday is successful when our stores get exactly what they need and customers can rely on products in a well-stocked shelf.

• Maintaining strong relationships with transport coordinators, colleagues, charters, and carriers.
• Contributing to the development of the annual plan and further professionalizing the department.
• Ensuring a safe working environment and complying with health and safety guidelines.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement and initiating optimizations within processes and working methods.
• Participating in local and national projects that contribute to the further development of our logistical organization.
• Building and shaping a new transport department within a modern and dynamic environment.

• A completed MBO 4 education with HBO working and thinking level;
• Work experience in a logistical/transport environment;
• You are independent, a natural leader, have your own opinions, dare to make decisions, and have an eye for the drivers you lead;
• Strong social skills. Conducting a conversation is second nature to you; you are empathetic and sincere;
• You can act as a coach in the development of individuals and the team.
