As a lead engineer at Hollandia Services, you will work on iconic hydraulic engineering structures such as the Maeslantkering, the Haringvlietbrug, and the Oosterscheldekering. You play a central role in directing the team of engineers, contribute to the design process, and are responsible for technical choices. When emergencies or technical issues arise, you are the one who maintains the overview and works with the team to reach well-considered solutions.
Your collaboration with a team of engineers forms the basis of the maintenance project, from kick-off through to assembly and commissioning. You actively contribute to the design process. You are a permanent link within a multidisciplinary project team, collaborating with the project manager, purchaser, work planner, production leader, and other specialists. Within this, you are responsible for the mechanical engineering component of the maintenance project; your main task is to ensure a good and safe design. The leadership of the team of engineers lies in your hands. You monitor progress using an engineering schedule prepared by you. Furthermore, you are responsible for choices, quality, planning, and budget regarding the design. You perform your function partly in the office, and you also regularly have appointments off-site at project locations, with customers, and with suppliers. To achieve this, you will be engaged in the following tasks:
Representing Hollandia Services in meetings with involved parties such as the main contractor, client, design agencies, and subcontractors
Responsibility for the entire design process, carried out according to Systems Engineering, including trade-off matrices, design reviews, and project administration
Implementation of requirements from laws and regulations and the contract into the design
Defining and coordinating interfaces with other disciplines, including elaboration in the design
Monitoring and managing the design budget (hours), with an eye for craftsmanship and innovative cost control
Within an involved family business with an informal working atmosphere, you will work together with colleagues who are sharp on content and have an eye for one another. From this foundation, you will receive a great deal of freedom and responsibility in the way you organize your work. At the same time, you contribute to extraordinary infrastructural projects with great societal impact. What else you can expect from us:
A salary from € 5,359.00 up to € 7,656.00 per month
A day off every now and then? No problem, we offer 40 days off
Flexible working hours, start time between 7:00 and 9:00 AM
A lease car for project and client visits
A pension scheme based on the Metalektro CAO
You are a hands-on leader with an eye for the roles within your team. It gives you energy to help colleagues further. It is important that you already have experience as an engineer in the world of steel structures. Furthermore, we expect from you:
For 98 years, we have been working with steel in the world of bridges, locks, high-rise buildings, stadiums, and refineries. In the Netherlands and abroad, we are known for high-profile projects such as Wembley Stadium, the Hollandsche IJsselkering, and the new self-closing storm surge barrier in Steyl-Maashoek. We focus on sustainability and innovation to keep the Netherlands dry and in motion. In this way, we contribute to a safe and reliable infrastructure for millions of people.
Hollandia Services plays an important role in the maintenance and renovation of the Dutch infrastructure. With 200 technical experts, we maintain bridges, locks, and storm surge barriers. We work in teams that are large enough to learn from each other and small enough to keep personal contact central. We do this from our locations in Capelle aan den IJssel, Krimpen aan den IJssel, and Sint Nicolaasga. We offer full service in the field of mechanical, electrotechnical, and hydraulic maintenance. The projects we work on vary in scale and complexity. Thus, there is always a project that fits your knowledge and ambition. From a compact maintenance project such as replacing drives or performing inspections, to total renovations of technical icons such as the Oosterscheldekering, the Maeslantkering, and the IJssel bridges.
