Role description:
As a Design Engineer Electrical Engineering within Sustainable Building Services & Physics (SBS&P), you are responsible for setting up and developing electrical engineering designs and calculations. You work in a team and your designs are often complex and innovative electrical installations. These include, for example; medium and low voltage installations, lighting, fire protection, detection systems, and communication networks. You prepare the necessary calculations, produce principle diagrams, among other things, and form the basis of the installation design. You perform your work in a digital BIM working environment, using, among other things, Autodesk products such as Revit and BIM360Docs. "Your projects have a multidisciplinary character and are both national and international. Sharing knowledge and collaborating with different disciplines is essential to realize the most well-considered, high-quality, and strategically sustainable solutions for clients.

Sustainable Building Services & Physics Advisory Group
Within the SBS&P advisory group, we realize solutions together with clients where we respond to the objectives from the climate agreement within installation technology in the built environment. We do this, for example, by preparing strategic advice regarding; the grid congestion challenge, objectives for healthy buildings, CO2 reduction, designing sustainable gasless buildings that contribute to the realization of the energy transition, designing WKO (aquifer thermal energy storage) and PV installations, smart building solutions, etc. "Raising the bar every time" is characteristic of the SBS&P advisory group. Therefore, the most modern techniques are frequently used, including Virtual Reality applications within the design. You will work in an enthusiastic group of colleagues within the multidisciplinary Sustainable Building Services & Physics advisory group, represented in the Arcadis offices in Rotterdam, 's-Hertogenbosch, and Maastricht.

Role responsibilities:
You are part of a project team and you independently take responsibility for complex and innovative electrical installation issues. Building-related installation technology is in motion due to, among other things, the objectives of the climate agreement, the energy transition, grid congestion, and the digitalization of technologies. Within the design team, you coordinate your design with other involved disciplines, both within Arcadis and certainly outside the door with other design parties.
