What we're looking for
- At least 3 years of relevant experience with project management or project coordination within packaging, for example at an agency, retailer, or brand.
- Knowledge of packaging production, printing techniques, working drawings, and technical specifications, so that you can properly assess briefings and deliveries.
- HBO/WO working and thinking level.
- You are a strong planner and project manager: sharp down to the details and able to maintain an overview.
- You communicate easily and can effectively brief, guide, and check external designers and suppliers.
- You have an eye for commerce and design, and know how to find the balance between creativity and efficiency.
- You identify opportunities for optimization and dare to translate these into concrete improvements.
The role
At HEMA, we are looking for an enthusiastic packaging coordinator for our packaging team! In this role, you will have control over the execution of our packaging projects: from design templates to the approval of press proofs and the delivery of final artwork. You organize the process, coordinate the activities of all parties involved, and monitor planning, progress, and quality. Project management is in your DNA: critical up to the very last round of corrections, with a good eye for consistency and detail.
What you'll do
- You coordinate multiple packaging projects simultaneously during the working drawing and execution phases and monitor the design, planning, and deadlines.
- You translate the design into clear project briefings, agreements, and delivery moments for external agencies and suppliers.
- You have an eye for detail, consistency, and commercial value.
- You check press proofs, coordinate technical specifications with international suppliers, brief DTP operators, and test technical feasibility.
- You organize and facilitate shelf tests in which the design is assessed at shelf level.
- You coordinate and guide external agencies and suppliers, ensuring that designs and technical developments align seamlessly with our quality and brand standards.
- You collect and coordinate necessary content, such as labels and legal product texts, in collaboration with other departments.
- You monitor the planning and ensure that projects are completed smoothly and on time.
- You prepare periodic reports to make progress and results transparent and to make timely adjustments where necessary.
- You identify opportunities for improvement in our processes and help to make the packaging process increasingly smarter and more efficient.
- You actively maintain contact with internal stakeholders (such as sustainability and category) and external partners to strengthen collaboration and exploit opportunities.
- You follow market developments in packaging, printing techniques, and technical innovations, and share this knowledge to continuously improve our packaging.
