The role

Have you gained the necessary experience in EPLAN and do you want to contribute to next-level engineering? Help accelerate the transition from ETO to CTO and take our engineering to the next level. In this role, you will switch between unique projects for customers in industries such as food, concrete, and water boards, and you will see concrete results from your work.

This is what you will do
As a lead hardware engineer, you translate functional and technical requirements into a complete electrotechnical design. You develop a complete and reliable design package in EPLAN (schematics, drawings, and associated documentation) that is suitable for realization. Your design then goes directly to our Panel Building department, where it is built by the technicians. As a result, you are close to the end product and see your design become reality in our workshop.

You take the lead in complex and large-scale projects and act as the technical specialist within the team. This means you are the point of contact for hardware engineering, standards, and material knowledge, and you support your colleagues where necessary to achieve the best result together. You work closely with the project leader to translate customer wishes into technical solutions and also seek collaboration with fellow engineers, purchasing, work preparation, and the Panel Building department.

Additionally, you actively contribute to the further development of hardware engineering towards standardization, modularization, and configuration-oriented design (transition ETO → CTO). You develop and maintain reusable building blocks (for example, EPLAN macros, templates, standard components, and design agreements). In doing so, you help to reduce the engineering effort per project, increase quality, and contribute to our ambition 'Panel Building of the Future'. You do this in an average work week:

What you'll do

  • You develop the complete hardware design in EPLAN;

  • You test and assess customer requests for technical feasibility;

  • You perform technical calculations, such as cable and heat load calculations;

  • You draw up electrical schematics and create 3D layouts for control cabinets;

  • You mentor junior and medior colleagues;

  • You contribute to improvement processes and changes;

  • You hand over your design to the Assembly IA department and see the design realized in the workshop.

Requirements

This is what you bring
You demonstrate ownership of your projects and take the initiative to ensure they run successfully. You monitor progress, maintain an overview, and ensure a strong technical and financial foundation. You work in a structured and result-oriented manner, think ahead, and make well-considered decisions. In doing so, you feel responsible for delivering high-quality engineering, with an eye for quality, reliability, and opportunities for improvement.

You also think commercially. You identify deviations and bottlenecks so that any additional work agreements can be addressed in time. Finally, you look critically at your own work and that of the team, ask for and give feedback, and actively contribute to optimizing processes and further team development. Furthermore, we would like to see:

  • At least an MBO 4 diploma in the field of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar;

  • Extensive experience with EPLAN or similar CAD software;

  • Preference: experience with standardization/modularization (for example, libraries, macros, templates);

  • Interest in configuration-oriented design (CTO).

Because you matter…
as a lead hardware engineer, based on a 32- or 40-hour work week, you can count on:

  • 38 free days per year (25 vacation days + 13 ADV days);

  • an annual contract with a view to permanent employment;

  • annual profit sharing;

  • travel allowance for commuting;

  • a laptop and phone;

  • a good pension scheme via PMT;

  • plenty of variety in your activities, because no project is the same;

  • ample development and training opportunities to realize your ambitions;

  • nice extras such as a discount on leasing an (electric) bicycle;

  • the possibility of collective health insurance;

  • outings and activities such as the annual party, barbecue, Christmas drinks, pub quiz, sports events, darts tournament, and the annual ski trip;

  • cozy Friday afternoon drinks to ring in the weekend.
