For strong candidates, follow-up opportunities within FrieslandCampina may be possible.FrieslandCampina is a global dairy company with thousands of employees and brands reaching consumers in over 100 countries. At our Veghel site, we produce high-quality whey- and milk-based ingredients for food, infant nutrition, and pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide. The Technology department at our Veghel site has recently started up a new lactoferrin plant. To control and improve the process in a structured way, we first need a solid, data-driven picture of how it performs today. In this internship you will set up a baseline for a selected set of product components across the process. You will collect and analyse process and lab data, assess how reliable the measurements are, and turn your findings into practical insights for operations and technology.

The role

Three years ago, the Veghel site started up a new lactoferrin plant. To improve the process in a structured way, we want a clear, data-driven picture of how much selected product components vary across the process today.

During this internship, you will map this variation and establish a baseline. You will collect and analyse process and laboratory data, identify the main sources of variation, and translate your findings into practical insights for Operations and Technology.

The internship duration is five months and will result in a report suitable as a graduation thesis.

What you'll do

  • Get to know the process, from incoming raw material to end product, and map where selected components are measured and influenced.
  • Collect and structure process and laboratory data from historian systems and lab records.
  • Make process variation visible per process step and over time using tools such as trend analysis, control charts and capability analysis.
  • Identify the main sources of variation (e.g. raw materials, process settings, shifts and batches) and understand how they relate to each other.
  • Deliver a clear, data-driven baseline report with recommendations for monitoring and follow-up.

What we ask

  • Affinity with production processes, data analysis and statistics.
  • Comfortable working in a production environment.
