Pay & benefits

What you'll get

By good compensation, we mean more than a good salary. Having fun in your work and a good work-life balance are at least as important. The more you enjoy yourself, the better your contribution to our projects.

In any case, you can expect the following:

  • a market-conform salary based on your knowledge and experience (€ 3,000 - € 3,800);
  • 43 vacation days on a full-time basis (24 + 19 ATV);
  • a pleasant work culture, where people feel they belong and where there is an open dialogue. There is little hierarchy and you will quickly feel at home;
  • a diverse and independent role in a dynamic working environment within luxury interior construction;
  • a personal training budget of €1,000 per year to further develop yourself;
  • would you also like to make furniture for yourself? That is possible on our DIY Saturdays!

The role

Imagine: your craftsmanship in a team that builds the most exclusive interiors in the world. At De Klerk Binnenbouw, part of the prestigious Feadship group where more than 1800 professionals contribute to the creation of luxury superyachts, every interior is unique and completely custom-made. We combine artisanal tradition with innovative technologies and strive for perfection. Here, you get the chance to be part of a team where quality and collaboration are central and where your skills can raise the bar. Join us and help build masterpieces!

What you'll do

A solid wood staircase, a lounge sofa for the guest quarters, the wardrobe in the owner's section. As Yacht Interior Builder / (Allround) Furniture Maker Karwei, it is your responsibility to ensure that the custom-made luxury wooden interior is actually installed in the yacht. You will therefore work on location (Karwei) in Aalsmeer or Makkum.

Even though everything must be drawn and engineered, the furniture ultimately has to fit perfectly in the yacht. And in the yacht's finishing phase, you are not the only one on the shipyard. For this reason, you must coordinate your work well with other professionals such as electricians, pipefitters, and plumbers, but also with the marble supplier. From basic floors, walls, and ceilings to high-gloss lacquered veneer panels, walk-in closets, and vanity tables. The construction elements delivered from the workshop and the (installation) drawings come together in this phase. In the spaces assigned to you, you are responsible from A to Z. Here, you provide smart solutions for practical problems. We continue to strive for high quality standards, even for the installation.

Tasks Yacht Interior Builder:

  • Reading the information on the working drawings and processing the information in the correct manner;
  • The (independent) processing of parts of furniture, including ceilings, wall panels, and stairs;
  • The installation of hardware;
  • The installation of furniture on location, which has been made by your colleagues from the production department;
  • Performing work on location (if necessary);
  • Supervising interns and apprentice furniture makers (allround furniture maker).

How you'll work

  • You are willing to go abroad to carry out your activities there (approximately 25% of the time, and currently mainly in Europe).

What you bring

The ideal candidate possesses MBO working and thinking level 3 for this position and preferably has training as a furniture maker and/or is supplemented with a number of years of work experience in furniture making, interior construction, or ship carpentry. Experience in processing veneer and solid wood is a plus.

You find it a challenge to constantly improve your work, your colleagues, and yourself. Reliability, involvement, and pride are core values that you endorse and that you know how to project in your daily work.

We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that you achieve the highest quality level. Often you work in your assigned space, but regularly you will also assist colleagues. You can collaborate well and continue to communicate at all times with other disciplines such as electricians to coordinate your activities. (Quick) switching and flexibility will help you organize the work.

Furthermore:

  • You can work independently and the various (hand) tools and types of wood pose no secrets to you.
  • You are a team player with good communication skills and feel responsible for bringing the project to a successful conclusion together, even in the face of setbacks.
  • You have a high quality standard and ask for and give technical advice to colleagues. You also enjoy teaching interns and starting furniture makers the trade and convey your knowledge with enthusiasm and patience.
  • Reading digital drawings comes easily to you.

Hiring process

Do you recognize yourself in this profile and are you eager to get started in the Champions League of interior yacht construction? Then apply right away and let us know why you are the perfect candidate for this role!
