What we're looking for

• HBO / WO (Bachelor's / Master's) level of working and thinking;
• Several years of experience within project management (preferably within yacht or shipbuilding);
• Some technical knowledge of the construction or maintenance of yachts or commercial vessels;
• Experience with project-based working and managing processes;
• A strong sense of responsibility, independence, and the ability to maintain an overview;
• A positive, energetic attitude and the ability to navigate smoothly through the organization;
• Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

The role

At De Vries Scheepsbouw Makkum, the jewel of the Frisian economy, we build exceptional Feadships - world-class yachts, fully customized and finished to perfection. From our modern shipyard on the IJsselmeer, we proudly work on projects up to 120 meters. Every detail counts, and everyone's craftsmanship contributes to the final result. Together, we realize yachts that garner admiration worldwide - that is your contribution to the construction of a Feadship.

What you'll do

Together with the New Build Project Manager, you will be the face of our shipyard in Makkum towards the owner's team during the construction of a new, unique Feadship yacht. A construction project lasts an average of four years, from contract signing to delivery. You will support the Project Team during intensive contact with the owner's team and, together with the team, translate their wishes into a manufacturable and feasible design. Together with the entire project team—Technical Manager, Interior Manager, Exterior Manager, Controller, Planner, Purchaser, and Construction Coordinator, and with the Project Assistant as a constant value—you will monitor the entire process, from the initial design by the Naval Architects through to delivery. Your mission: to deliver a Feadship, but above all, to make their dream a reality.

Specifically, you will be involved in:
• Monitoring the budget, planning, and quality of the construction project;
• Managing all construction-related risks;
• Maintaining intensive contact with the owner's team and designers and translating their wishes into a manufacturable and feasible design;
• Collaborating with the Engineering department during the design phase;
• Collaborating with the shell builder during the shell construction phase;
• Collaborating with production departments, subcontractors, and co-builders during the outfitting phase;
• Successfully managing all involved parties.
