Cost engineer

• The salary for this position is between € 3,974 and € 6,256 gross per month (based on 40 hours), excluding 8% holiday allowance. The exact salary depends on your knowledge, level, and work experience.

• On top of salary comes a fixed amount for the Sustainable Employability Budget for things that contribute to staying healthy and motivated (2.3% according to the Bouw & Infra collective labor agreement).

• With an eye on a long-term relationship, we offer you an indefinite contract immediately.

• 43 leave days according to the Bouw & Infra collective labor agreement. Of these days, 13 are paid out in your individual budget; you can choose to buy these days back;

• A laptop and a smartphone.

The budget you prepare determines whether projects ranging from €30 million to over €200 million are realized. You are not the one calculating after the fact. You are at the table when tender strategies are determined, risks are weighed, and investment decisions are made. From residential towers such as AmstelVista and One50 in Amsterdam to area developments like Rootz in Haarlem and Victoriapark in Hoofddorp: your cost vision directly influences the feasibility of these projects. You are given a great deal of freedom to make choices, develop alternatives, and critically challenge both clients and colleagues. Not from a spreadsheet, but as a substantive sparring partner within the tender and development team.

As a Cost engineer at Dura Vermeer Bouw & Vastgoed Amsterdam, you do not work on standard projects. You are involved in large-scale and complex urban developments where technology, logistics, sustainability, quality, and finance converge.

Projects you will work on include: Linden, Amsterdamse Poort, The Triplets, Amstelwood, Velo, and Park Valley.

These projects vary from high-end residential towers and mixed-use buildings to complete area developments with hundreds of homes and complex execution issues.

You are involved from the first project phase and are responsible for:

• preparing and verifying integral cost estimates and budgets;

• analyzing risks, opportunities, and cost drivers;

• determining scenarios and optimizations that make the difference in tenders;

• advising management, developers, and project teams on financial feasibility;

• assessing design choices from the perspective of cost, feasibility, and return;

• developing smart pricing strategies with which we win projects.

In doing so, you work closely with fellow estimators, cost experts, developers, design managers, and project leaders.

What makes this position different is that you don't just calculate. You influence choices that make a difference of millions of euros. Your expertise is brought in early in the process and plays an important role in decision-making regarding large residential and utility projects.

Within Dura Vermeer Bouw & Vastgoed Amsterdam, you work in a pricing team with experienced estimators and cost experts who do not shy away from substantive discussions. Here, you don't have to explain why a risk reserve needs to be different or why a construction method is financially smarter.
