The role

Ambition
You ensure that things happen on-site. Safely, according to agreement, and with a team that knows what it needs to do.

As a senior cables & pipelines supervisor, you work on underground infrastructure around the tracks and at stations throughout the Netherlands. You manage supervisors, specialists, and subcontractors, balance multiple interests, and ensure that the work continues. Even when the planning changes or the situation on-site turns out to be different than expected. You will deal with, among other things, telecom, data, electricity lines, and fiber optics. Work where safety, good coordination, and the right decision at the right moment make the difference.

This is what you will do
You ensure that things happen on-site. Safely, according to agreement, and with a team that knows what it needs to do. As a 3rd class cables & pipelines supervisor, you manage employees, specialists, and subcontractors and maintain control over planning, quality, and costs.

You work on underground infrastructure within our rail projects, such as telecom, data, electricity lines, and fiber optics. You manage one or more projects simultaneously and maintain an overview, even when things do not go as planned. You will:

You don't have to stand over everything yourself. But when it counts, you know what is happening on-site, you are there, and you take a decision.

What you'll do

  • manage and motivate your team, with clear agreements and room for craftsmanship;

  • prioritize safety and encourage colleagues to share risks and improvements;

  • plan and adjust, set priorities, and make decisions when necessary;

  • monitor quality and costs, including extra and reduced work;

  • coordinate with stakeholders, from your team and colleagues to ProRail, public transport companies, and grid operators;

  • drive improvements by looking critically, listening, and turning good ideas into action.

Requirements

Dura Vermeer is an independent family business. And you can feel it. In how we work together, look out for one another, and build with an eye for future generations. Since 1855, we have been building the Netherlands in residential construction, industrial construction, infrastructure, and technology. Our independence and long-term vision form the basis for this. With a turnover of € 2.6 billion and over 3,700 colleagues, we are among the top of the Dutch construction sector. But ultimately, it is not about those figures for us. It is about people. About colleagues working together on projects you can be proud of – iconic and close to home – and contributing to solutions for societal issues.

Our ambitions are great. And we only achieve them with committed people. That is why we invest in good employer ship and a work environment in which you feel at home. Where you can be yourself, feel safe, and speak up. So that you get the best out of yourself and make more together with us.

This is what we expect from you
You are an experienced supervisor who maintains an overview and communicates clearly. You know when you can give space and when you are the one who must make a decision. For this role, you bring:

We do not expect you to solve every problem yourself. However, we do expect you to ensure that problems are brought to the table, the right people are involved, and a decision is ultimately made.

Why Dura Vermeer Railinfra?
Here you get the space to practice your craft and take responsibility. You organize your work with a high degree of independence and get opportunities to further develop yourself through training.

And you aren't just working on cables and pipelines. Your work is part of rail projects in which various technical disciplines come together. That requires collaboration, looking ahead, and making decisions when things on-site go differently than planned.

Safe working is the priority. In how you organize the work, how you manage your team, and the choices you make on-site.

We care about you

Dura Vermeer is a large organization in which you can learn a lot and in which you have opportunities to shape your ambitions. In doing so, we attach great value to education, development, and personal initiative. We have good employment conditions in accordance with the CAO Railinfrastructuur (RIS).
