Data Engineer Logistics

• You have a bachelor's or master's in Technical Business Administration, Business IT & Management, Data Science, Analytics, or similar, and at least 3 years of experience in a similar role;

• You have experience with SQL (3+ years), SSIS/SSDT, SSRS, SSAS, and Power BI (semantic models and reporting), plus dimensional modeling and Data Vault modeling;

• You think conceptually and act practically: you oversee architecture and data flows and translate complex questions into robust, working solutions;

• You are business-oriented, critical, and connecting, speak the language of both business and IT, and take proactive ownership;

• You communicate well in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.

• You are prepared to work from Barneveld once every week and a half (must)!

• Plus: Scrum, Microsoft Fabric, Python, Spark, and Azure Data Factory;

• A suitable salary between € 3,651 to € 5,014 gross per month, a company laptop, 30 vacation days (based on full-time), 8% holiday allowance, a holiday bonus of € 550 gross, travel allowance, and a good pension scheme;

As a Data Engineer, you will become part of the Data & Analytics team in Rotterdam. Most of your time you will work for the Business Unit Liquid Food, where you are the functional and technical co-owner of the data warehouse and ensure that reliable data is available for analysis and decision-making. You combine data engineering (back-end) with BI, and translate business questions into scalable solutions: from reliable data flows and semantic models to dashboards, ad-hoc analyses, and tender and pricing tools.

Together with your colleagues, you will modernize the data landscape, with plenty of room to experiment with predictive & generative AI, AI agents, machine learning, and process automation. Your base is Rotterdam; to stay close to the business, you will work from the Liquid Food office in Barneveld approximately once every week and a half.

• You manage the Liquid Food data domain: database management, architecture, data models, documentation, data quality, continuity, and continuous development;

• You develop and maintain reliable data pipelines from source systems to the data warehouse and the reporting environment, primarily using SQL;

• You monitor the availability, completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data, and you resolve structural causes of data problems;

• You build semantic models, dashboards, and reports, and you translate information needs into clear KPIs and self-service;

• You contribute to business-driven projects such as tender, pricing, and cost-price tools, from concept to management - thus bridging the gap between organization, processes, and technology;

• You set up monitoring, logging, authorizations, and version control, in alignment with the central architecture, privacy, security, and data governance frameworks;

• You identify opportunities for automation and predictive insights, and you stimulate continuous improvement through data and process analysis.
