Assistant Buyer Food & Dining

As Assistant Buyer Food & Dining at de Bijenkorf, you play an important role in putting together a surprising and distinctive assortment. From culinary delicacies and luxury gifts to tableware, glassware and table accessories: together with the team, you ensure that our customers are inspired time and again, both online and in our stores.

The following tasks are part of your responsibilities:

• You support the creation of an inspiring and commercially strong Food & Dining assortment.
• You maintain daily contact with suppliers about collections, deliveries, stock and promotions.
• You ensure flawless administrative processing of orders and samples.
• You analyse sales results, trends and customer needs and translate these into concrete insights.
• You support assortment choices, pricing and commercial negotiations.
• You will work intensively with buyers, planners, suppliers, stores, and the distribution center.
• You will contribute to achieving revenue, margin, and inventory targets.

You combine a passion for food, hospitality, and dining with a commercial mindset. You are analytically strong, work with precision, and get energy from a dynamic retail environment where no two days are the same.

In addition, you possess:

• HBO (Higher Professional Education) level of working and thinking.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience as an Assistant Buyer, Assistant Product Manager, or in a similar commercial support role within the world of food, cooking, dining, hospitality, or related retail concepts.
• demonstrable knowledge of the cooking, dining, and food market. For this position, interest alone is not enough; we are looking for a professional who understands the industry and can quickly contribute independently.
• a feel for trends, assortments, and commercial opportunities.
• strong organizational skills and an eye for detail.
• good command of Excel.
• excellent command of both Dutch and English.
