The role
Do you turn a business question into a data product that people can rely on?
We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer who understands the question behind the question and can translate it into usable data products. From a Power BI dashboard that a client uses to manage their organization, to the data models and definitions that form the basis for reliable answers from our AI analytics solution CynthAI.
What you'll do
You oversee the entire chain from business question to end product. You discuss with stakeholders what they want to know, investigate which data is required for that, and make choices regarding modeling, definitions, and presentation. In doing so, you also look ahead: how do we ensure that a solution is easy to maintain and that the same data and definitions can be used in multiple places?
We are looking for someone to take the lead in this. You bring experience, make technical choices discussable, and bring your colleagues along in your approach.
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you bridge the gap between business and technology. In doing so, you work closely with our data engineers. They connect the source systems and ensure that the data becomes available on our data platform. You build upon that: you translate that data into clear data models, unambiguous definitions, and usable dashboards. With those models and definitions, you also lay the data foundation for AI applications.
Your strength lies in understanding the business as well as modeling and applying data. You do not need to be a specialist in infrastructure or system integrations; we have that expertise within the team.
You work together with clients, business analysts, and other stakeholders to sharpen information needs. You ask follow-up questions, test assumptions, and help determine what is actually needed. Sometimes that is a dashboard, sometimes a reusable data model, and sometimes a dataset that an AI agent can use.
You design and build data models, transformations, and semantic models. You carefully document business logic, relationships, and calculations, so that concepts and KPIs are used consistently in both reports and AI applications. For this, we primarily work with Microsoft Fabric, SQL, dbt, and Power BI.
You develop Power BI dashboards that align with the daily practice of users. You contribute ideas on which insights are needed, how to present them clearly, and how to prevent users from having to perform all sorts of manual edits themselves.
Together with our data engineers and AI engineers, you work on the data foundation for CynthAI, our own AI analytics solution. You ensure that the data and associated business context are well-structured, so that questions in natural language can be translated into usable analyses.
You take responsibility for the quality of what we deliver. You pay attention to data quality, performance, testing, version control, and maintainability. You help further develop our standards and reusable building blocks within the Crowe Data Engine and apply them in projects.
Within the analytics engineering team, you are a technical point of contact. You review work, contribute ideas to complex issues, and mentor colleagues. You explain why you make certain choices and give others the space to become more proficient in them themselves.
About Crowe Foederer
In their own words
About the company & team
Foederer Data Science is the data and AI team within Crowe Foederer. We are a multidisciplinary team of about 30 colleagues: data engineers, analytics engineers, developers, AI engineers, and business analysts.
We work closely to the business. We want to understand what decisions a client needs to make, where processes get stuck, and what information helps with that. Based on those questions, we build data platforms, reports, and AI solutions.
You work on client and internal projects in various sectors as well as on our own products, such as the Crowe Data Engine and CynthAI. Because of this, what you learn in a project can also be used to further improve our collective approach and solutions.
Within the team, there is plenty of room to contribute ideas and take responsibility. We are looking for someone in you who adds experience, helps solve technical issues, and involves colleagues in improvements. You will be given the space to have influence on how we work as an analytics engineering team and what we deliver.
Our stack consists primarily of Microsoft Fabric, SQL, dbt, and Power BI. We work on reusable solutions and safeguard quality through, among other things, version control, reviews, and automated testing.
