Senior Data Engineer

• Has a completed BSc or MSc in a technical field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar.

• Has at least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar senior data/engineering role, and from an advisory or consultancy role.

• Speaks and writes fluent Dutch and English.

• Has in-depth knowledge of SQL, Python, and data processing frameworks such as PySpark or Pandas.

• Has extensive experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar technologies.

• Has experience designing and building scalable data architectures (e.g., data lakes and data warehouses).

• Is familiar with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and associated DevOps/CI-CD processes.

• Can substantiate technical choices to stakeholders and clients.

• Likes to take on a coaching and leading role towards junior and medior colleagues.

• Proactively contributes ideas regarding data strategy, innovation, and best practices within the Data & AI team.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and build data-driven products and to provide direction for a scalable and future-proof data backbone for our data science and analytics projects. The Senior Data Engineer takes a leading role in elevating the data architecture, data handling, and data automation capabilities of our clients. Additionally, you will apply your technical leadership, experience, and vision to realize robust, efficient, and reusable data solutions and to guide colleagues in doing so.

• Takes the lead in designing, building, and monitoring reusable data models and data architectures.

• Develops complex data pipelines, including ETL/ELT processes.

• Designs and optimizes data lakes and data warehouses.

• Operationalizes analysis methods and data science solutions and translates them into production-ready applications.

• Designs, configures, and manages the necessary cloud infrastructure, including attention to performance, security, and scalability.

• Has experience working in a commercially oriented and/or consulting organization and can advise clients at a strategic and technical level.

• Likes to work in a team setting with colleagues with different skills and actively contributes to knowledge sharing and coaching.
