As an ophthalmologist at Bergman Clinics, you play a crucial role in improving the quality of life of our patients. In our clinic, you practice the profession in its full breadth. You work with an experienced and close-knit team consisting of fellow ophthalmologists, optometrists, orthoptists, ANIOs, physician assistants, and medical assistants. Additionally, our front- and back-office staff ensure a smooth processing of patient care. Your duties include:

• Outpatient consultations

• Performing procedures in the independent treatment rooms

• Surgeries in the OR

• You have a current BIG registration as an ophthalmologist

• You possess strong communication and didactic skills

• You are proactive, driven, and entrepreneurial

• You have an eye for innovation and market developments

• You are good at maintaining contacts with referrers and colleagues

• Experience with oculoplastic surgery, cataract, and/or medical retina is a plus

Career growth opportunities?
There is a possibility to grow into the role of medical coordinator in the long term. As a MECO, you implement and coordinate medical policy within a location to ensure the quality of care. This includes organizing medical and specialist consultations, arranging on-call services, and collaborating with the medical director for quality improvement and client safety. Additionally, the MECO is involved in preparing inspections, a part of the quality of care (quality meetings, audits), and developing strategic plans. The role focuses on improving care processes with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety. This role is, of course, appropriately rewarded and offers a great opportunity to further develop your leadership skills.

Bergman Ogen | Flevoland includes the Lelystad and Emmeloord locations. The team consists of 6 ophthalmologists who have been delivering very beautiful results for years. There is space in the team for a starting or a more experienced ophthalmologist. There is a good atmosphere and mutual communication within the team. You work together on optimizing the organization of care and the location. The clinic has a fully equipped outpatient clinic, operating room, and separate independent treatment rooms. There is sufficient demand from clients for both standard lenses and premium lenses. The patient population is characterized by a relatively high disease burden and therefore also a great diversity of clinical pictures.
