Strategy & Operations Intern (working internship)

31-38.75 hours per week | Utrecht | Hybrid | € 600,- internship allowance | Bachelor/Master student | 6-12 months

In this working internship, you will help solve strategic and operational issues for clients in the industry: you will examine their greatest challenges regarding strategic positioning, product and market choices, process optimization, and digitalization.

You will work on various assignments for clients in the industry and the broader business community, such as developing a new strategy, mapping a market or sector, improving operational processes, implementing technological innovations, and organizing transformations for growth and performance improvement. By 'industry', we include manufacturing, defense, food processing, and high-tech industries.

You will work in a flat organization that is always open to new and innovative ideas, where you will receive a lot of freedom to learn and to contribute ideas.

Examples of projects you will assist with:

• Facilitating strategic workshops to recalibrate the organization's strategy.

• Conducting market research for a service partner in marine engines.

• Improving the quality and lead time of the production process at an automotive parts manufacturer through the application of Lean Six Sigma.

• Optimizing production processes through the use of data from a personal care products manufacturer.

• Realizing company-wide performance improvement and cost savings at an offshore organization.

Additionally, you will help with writing proposals and creating pitch decks for new assignments and further developing our services. It is possible to conduct internship research in parallel with your period at Berenschot, as long as sufficient time remains available to help with client assignments and to develop yourself in that regard.

You will work in the Strategy & Operations team, part of the Organizational Transformation advisory group. The team consists of seventeen smart and enthusiastic advisors working in various sectors. They combine their knowledge of the market, strategy, and operational business processes to create sharp analyses and advice. The team is characterized by a strong collegial bond where hard work, teamwork, bringing out the best in yourself and each other, impact, and having fun go hand in hand. Working alongside smart and driven Berenschotters, you will collaborate on solutions that truly matter.

We are looking for someone who:

• has experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel)

• has a sense for reporting and visual presentation of information

• has basic knowledge of strategy, organizational structures, and business processes

• has a passion for innovation, is eager to learn, and can collaborate well

• is proactive and takes on assignments independently

• speaks and writes excellent Dutch

• is preferably available for 12 months, but will join us for at least 6 months.

Previous work experience is not required, but can be a plus. To be able to do an internship at Berenschot, you must be enrolled at a university educational institution throughout the entire internship period.
