Packaging Specialist

No two days are the same. For example, you might start with a packaging test for new bag or box contents. Together with colleagues from production, you assess the samples and advise on dimensions and material strength. Then, a production leader from our factory in Belgium calls: the film isn't sealing properly. Is it the material, or is something else going on? You investigate and help the factory move forward quickly. A little later, you brainstorm with a marketing colleague about the planning, design, and technical execution of packaging for a new product. This allows you to combine technical depth with visible results.

In this versatile international role, you interact with colleagues at various levels and with suppliers both domestically and abroad. You are given plenty of room to apply your expertise and work closely with three other packaging professionals and the Manager Packaging Development, to whom you report. You are part of the international Supply Chain team. Together, we bring out the best in ourselves every day and are proud of what we achieve.

• You coordinate and supervise the introduction, implementation, and management of various packaging for Aviko brands and private labels.
• You connect product development, marketing, production, quality, supply chain, procurement, suppliers, and customers. In doing so, you ensure clear communication and maintain control over progress, quality, and planning.
• You solve diverse packaging issues and organize and supervise packaging trials at various production locations. You advise on material choice, packaging technical execution, and dimensions.
• You prepare technical documentation and manage, among other things, packaging and material specifications, die-cut tools, palletizing schemes, and DoCs.
• You supervise artwork processes from design to print, assess designs for technical feasibility and dimensions, and create clear instructions for design and artwork agencies, lithographers, and printing companies.
• You support colleagues, customers, and suppliers with questions regarding packaging, specifications, laws and regulations, and sustainability. In doing so, you work with various packaging and customer portals.
• You contribute to improvement and savings projects regarding material, logistics, and sustainability, as well as to brand- and customer-driven projects, such as new concepts, introductions, redesigns, and changes in legislation.
• With every solution, you seek the right balance between brand image, technical feasibility, costs, logistical efficiency, and sustainability.

• You have a relevant education in, for example, packaging technology, food technology, or graphic technology, or several years of relevant work experience.
• You possess a higher professional education (HBO) level of work and thinking; an HBO diploma is a plus.
• You work result-oriented, plan strongly, and feel at home in a project-based environment.
• You effortlessly keep multiple projects moving without losing sight of the details.
• You are resourceful and have the drive and "can-do mentality" to turn challenges into suitable solutions.
• You communicate clearly, enjoy collaborating, and are proactive.
• You have a good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written. Proficiency in German is a plus.
