Packaging Technologist

• You possess a Bachelor's/Master's level of professional and intellectual ability, preferably in Packaging, Material Science, Process Technology, or a similar field
• You have experience with packaging materials, especially flexible plastics and cardboard, and understand how materials behave on packaging lines
• You have basic knowledge of PPWR and relevant packaging legislation
• You have experience with packaging and line trials 
• You are analytical, hands-on, and can switch quickly between disciplines
• You communicate clearly and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• You speak Dutch and English; German is a plus

As a Packaging Technologist at Rixona, you play a key role within our Operations department, which supports all three of our locations. You ensure that our packaging not only functions optimally today but is also ready for the future.

Our packaging lines run continuously and are becoming increasingly automated. At the same time, the world of packaging legislation is changing rapidly due to PPWR and new sustainability requirements. You operate exactly at that intersection: technology, material behavior, compliance, and performance.

You work closely with colleagues from Operations, QA, Regulatory, Sustainability, Procurement, and Product Management. Together, you ensure that our packaging is reliable, compliant, and future-proof.

• You analyze the runability of packaging materials on our lines and ensure that packaging can be processed efficiently and reproducibly
• You coordinate line trials, validations, and material changes and work intensively with Operations during testing
• You translate PPWR requirements into technically feasible packaging solutions and assess packaging for recyclability and material reduction
• You verify supplier documentation such as Specifications, DoC, FCM, PFAS, and NIAS 
• You support audits and customer inquiries and ensure that documentation is complete and correct
• You develop new packaging solutions that comply with legislation, are suitable for line processing, and are future-proof in terms of sustainability
• You guide the implementation of new materials and ensure that these are compatible with existing lines
• You balance technical trade-offs between performance, cost, and sustainability 
• You build a knowledge database containing material behavior, test results, and legislative information
• You make an active contribution to reporting and the continuous improvement process within Operations
