Senior Urban Water Modeller

The modeling of urban water systems is a spearhead for Aveco de Bondt. We see a strong increase in beautiful new projects where we can truly make a difference for a livable Netherlands. To further advance our team, we are looking for an experienced modeller who wants to look beyond just building models. As a Senior Urban Water Modeller, you will work on complex issues within the urban water system. You will be involved in the modeling and analysis of sewerage, surface water, ground level and, together with our groundwater experts, groundwater, while taking an integral view of how these systems influence each other. With your knowledge and experience, you will contribute to gaining insight into the functioning of urban water systems and help clients in making well-founded choices.

Within projects, you play an important substantive role. For example, you will lead projects in the field of Urban Water System Overviews (SSW's) and be involved in drafting and reviewing these analyses. You will check and improve hydraulic models, monitor the quality of model studies, and ensure that results are reliable and well-founded.

In addition, you will take on a coaching role towards mid-level and junior modellers. You will guide them in their development, assist with substantive issues, and contribute to strengthening the modeling expertise within the team. At the same time, you will think along about the further development of the field by developing and applying new modeling concepts and working methods in projects.

In this role, you are therefore more than just a modeller who builds and calculates models. You are a substantive sparring partner for colleagues, municipalities, and project teams, and you actively contribute to the quality and development of projects and of the urban water field.

Aveco de Bondt has modeling projects with various scopes. From highly local to national, such as:

• The design of new neighborhoods or industrial estates, such as the sewerage of Strijp-S in Eindhoven;

• Many SSW projects, both in high and low Netherlands;

• National research projects for STOWA and the RIONED foundation, such as drafting the guideline for modeling urban water systems and developing the Key Factors for Water Management;

• A collaboration with the University of Groningen and the University of Amsterdam in the field of modeling and digital twinning.

• Little hierarchy, much room for own initiative;

• Experience with modeling within the urban water system;

• Experience with or interest in SSW studies;

• Substantive knowledge to assess models and ensure quality;

• Affinity with mentoring and training junior colleagues;

• Interest in further developing the field of modeling.

• A salary of at least €4,861 to a maximum of €8,102 Gross per month (excluding holiday allowance);
