Policy & Privacy Specialist

·  HBO/WO working and thinking level.

·  Minimum 2 years of experience within Governance, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Privacy, or a similar environment.

·  Demonstrable experience in the financial sector, insurance, or another highly regulated environment.

·  Knowledge of risk management, privacy legislation (GDPR), and compliance and control frameworks.

·  Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations such as Privacy, Pension legislation, Wft, and Wwft is a plus.

·  Experience with policy development, implementation, and governance issues.

·  Analytical skills and the ability to make complex subject matter understandable.

·  Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.

Salary per month:
Based on collective labor agreement (cao) scale 17 HAY, the range is € 5,991.23 to € 7,988.31 based on 36 hours.

As Policy & Privacy Specialist, you will play a key role in strengthening policy governance and privacy within Athora Netherlands.

As a Policy & Privacy specialist, you are responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving the governance, compliance, privacy, and risk management framework within Athora. You operate at the intersection of strategy, policy, and execution and act as a trusted advisor to management, business, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and IT.

You translate complex laws and regulations into workable solutions, ensure demonstrable control of risks, and stimulate a culture in which privacy, compliance, and governance are an integral part of daily business operations. You are the connecting link between the first, second, and third lines and play an important role in strengthening the organization's ability to be "in control".

· Developing, implementing, and maintaining policy frameworks, guidelines, and governance frameworks.

· Translating laws and regulations into practically executable policies and processes.

· Ensuring coherence, consistency, and compliance within the policy landscape.

· Identifying relevant developments in laws and regulations and translating these into concrete improvement initiatives.

· Performing risk and impact analyses and translating findings into control measures.

· Identifying structural risks and initiating organization-wide improvements.

· Maintaining the legislative checklist and reporting to senior management and Legal.

· Providing support during internal and external audits, reviews, and regulatory investigations.

· Coordinating the follow-up of findings and remedial measures.

· Maintaining contacts with auditors, regulators, and relevant stakeholders.

· Ensuring audit readiness and demonstrable compliance.

· Acting as a sparring partner for (senior) management.

· Advising on compliance, privacy, and governance issues.

· Creating support for improvement programs and change initiatives.

· Connecting different disciplines, including Operations, IT, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Finance.

· Initiating organization-wide improvement initiatives.

· Strengthening the governance, risk, and compliance culture within the organization.

· Contributing to decision-making and sustainable risk management.

· Monitoring the balance between compliance requirements, operational objectives, and customer interest.
