Junior Corporate Notary Candidate

As a junior notary candidate, you are part of the team from day one. You advise and negotiate directly for (inter)national clients on high-profile and often cross-border matters, working together with a close-knit team and under the guidance of an experienced partner.

Our notary practice consists of three practice groups: Corporate, International Capital Markets, and Real Estate.

Corporate

As a notary candidate, you will be involved in challenging and large-scale transactions, where you advise from a notarial and corporate law perspective on a wide range of corporate law topics. From mergers, demergers, restructurings, acquisitions, setting up (international) acquisition structures, privatizations, joint ventures, management buy-outs/ins, to IPOs. Additionally, we advise many large and small (Dutch) investment funds on their corporate governance.

Your development

At A&O Shearman, you are given the space to grow and develop yourself. You will follow our internal training program 'Basecamp', in which you work on both professional and substantive skills. Additionally, you will follow the Royal Notarial Professional Training (Koninklijke Notariële Beroepsopleiding). During the first three years of your training, you will rotate through different practice groups. This allows you to gain experience within various disciplines and discover more and more where your strengths lie.

Selection procedure

Within two weeks of the moment of application, you will have completed the full application process, and we hope to be able to welcome you to the office. The first step is a selection based on application documents. Should this proceed well, an assessment follows, during which we would like to get to know you as a person as well as possible. An aptitude test is also part of the assessment. If this proceeds well, an HR interview follows, in which, among other things, the assessment and your motivation for the firm are discussed. If this is successful, you will have two interviews with a total of four partners regarding your development and the practice.*
