Intern Category Management Team Wine

The Merchandising Wine department is a compact team that fulfills the various category roles formulated in the strategy within an omnichannel organization. The team is responsible for the financial KPIs and the commercial implementation of the Wine, Sparkling, Port, and Sherry assortment. This includes, among other things, selecting the assortment in-store and online at gall.nl, setting prices, creating and maintaining shelf plans, determining the promotional package, performing analyses, maintaining article data, and processing financial administration. The team consists of 1 Lead Category Manager, 2 Category Managers, 1 Wine Specialist, and 2 Category Assistants.

Your new job and workplace.
As an Intern, you will make a direct contribution to the team responsible for the financial KPIs and the commercial implementation of the Wine, Sparkling, Port, and Sherry assortment. You will not do this alone, but together with your colleagues from the Merchandising team. Where you will work on:

• Supporting the expansion and development of the assortment.
• Performing analyses for the purpose of commercial insights.
• Making forecasts for expected sales.
• Bringing the story behind the bottle (content) to life in-store and online at gall.nl.
• Preparing and organizing events such as masterclasses.
• Answering questions from stores and consumers.
• Keeping article data up to date.
• Supporting the team.

During your internship, you will become a full part of the Wine team and support the team in all daily activities. This covers the entire retail process from strategy to execution. You will work closely with other teams in the organization. The internship is for a period of 6 months, with the possibility to spend 4 days per week working and 1 day per week working on your graduation research.

In this position, you will work 32 hours per week, partly from our head office in Zaandam and partly from home.

What you bring.
Together with our colleagues in over 600 stores, a distribution center, and our head office, we are there for all connoisseurs. And if it were up to us, we will soon be doing that together with you as our new Intern. Especially if you bring your passion and eye for detail to Gall & Gall. Also:

• You are currently pursuing a degree at HBO/WO level, preferably in the field of hotel management or business administration.
• Good written and oral communication skills, in both Dutch and English. Organizationally strong - being able to be a "spin in the web," doing many things at once, and handling hectic situations.
• Knowledge of Excel.
• Experience with Power BI is a plus.
