The role

Your new workplace and colleagues

Gall & Gall is the premier drinks specialist in the Netherlands, with more than 600 stores spread across the country and successful omnichannel propositions. At our company, enthusiastic and expert colleagues work with a passion for the craft. Whether it is a rare Bordeaux, a fresh Argentine summer wine, a classic jenever, or a powerful smoky whisky: we love to share our knowledge and love for beautiful products.

But above all, we are all about the customer. Our customers always have something to celebrate, and we do everything we can to make those moments even more special.

Your new workplace is basically our distribution center in Delfgauw. Additionally, this position offers the flexibility to work from home or from another location on certain days, such as the Ahold Delhaize head office in Zaandam and from home.

At Gall & Gall, we believe it is important that you can be yourself. We build a work environment with room for different perspectives, where curiosity is central and where we value each other for who we are.

What you bring

You are looking for a job that is less task-oriented, but more focused on impact, stakeholder management, and advisory.

In addition, you possess:

  • HBO or WO working and thinking level. A diploma is not mandatory, but would be nice;
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience within data analytics, retail, logistics, or a similar environment. However, we do not strictly adhere to the number of years of experience. What matters more to us is that you are a well-developed data analyst;
  • Excellent knowledge of Power BI is essential to perform this job well, as well as demonstrable experience with Databricks, SQL, and Python;
  • Experience with developing dashboards, datasets, and data models supplemented with strong analytical skills. You can interpret data well and convert it into recommendations and concrete actions;
  • Presentation and communication skills are useful in this regard;
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages;
  • You live within a reasonable commuting distance of our DC in Delfgauw.

Knowledge of retail operations, logistics, omnichannel processes, or replenishment is a nice advantage, but not a hard requirement. Much substantive expertise is present within the team, and we are happy to help you further build this knowledge.

Additionally, you are:

  • A pleasant sparring partner for colleagues, management, and the board;
  • Curious and critical enough to keep asking questions until you have found the real cause;
  • A connector who easily switches between operation, business, and data;
  • Proactive and independent in identifying opportunities and improvements;
  • Someone who can explain complex subject matter simply and understandably;
  • A true team player who gets energy from working in a compact team with great responsibilities.

In their own words

About the company & team

At Gall & Gall, we believe that every moment is worth pausing for. The extraordinary lies in the here and now. That is why we inspire everyone to experience moments more consciously, always with the right drink by their side.

As an Analyst Replenishment Tactics & Operations, you will be part of the omnichannel operation and work within the Replenishment Tactics & Operations (RTO) team. A compact team of nine colleagues with a remarkably broad responsibility. Think of store replenishment, distribution center processes, store transport, omnichannel propositions, online orders, home delivery of eCom orders via logistics partners, assortment availability, and supporting our stores.

It is precisely this breadth that makes this function unique. Within Gall & Gall, the lines are short and you will get plenty of room to take ownership. You are not responsible for just one part of the chain, but get the opportunity to analyze and improve issues across the entire operation. This vacancy arises because we are expanding the team with an extra FTE. With this, we create space to further professionalize our data-driven way of working and take our omnichannel operation to an even higher level.

What else characterizes our team? We are always there for each other. We work closely together, share knowledge, and help each other where needed. Precisely because we are a compact team with a broad area of responsibility, we solve challenges together and celebrate successes together as well.

In this role, you are much more than just a data analyst. Of course, you build dashboards, analyze data, and identify trends. But the real added value lies in what you subsequently do with those insights. You understand the operation behind the numbers, distinguish between main and secondary issues, and dare to form a clear vision on what the data tells us.

You will work intensively with colleagues in the distribution center in Delfgauw, our stores, logistics partners, the Improvement team, and stakeholders at the head office in Zaandam. Thanks to the flat organization of Gall & Gall, you also get the opportunity to present your insights directly to the management team and regularly even to the board. This gives you direct influence on the choices we make as an organization.

No two days are the same. One moment you are analyzing the dynamics of or changes in store replenishment, the next moment you are investigating the performance of our home delivery via logistics partners or presenting advice to the MT regarding opportunities within our omnichannel operation. It is precisely that combination of data, operation, and advice that makes this role so interesting. In this role, you work 32-40 hours and report to the Manager Replenishment Tactics & Operations.

You make an impact as an Analyst Replenishment Tactics & Operations by:

  • Analyzing logistical and operational issues from stores, the distribution center, and the head office and translating them into concrete improvement initiatives.
  • Developing dashboards, analyses, and reports in Power BI that help colleagues make better and faster decisions.
  • Translating data into clear insights, strategic advice, and concrete improvement proposals for management and the board.
  • Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities within store replenishment, distribution center processes, transport, home delivery, and omnichannel propositions at an early stage and proactively advising on them.
  • Being the connecting link between data, operation, and decision-making by working intensively with stores, the distribution center, logistics partners, the Improvement team, and stakeholders at the head office.
