Senior Project Engineer

The team of 6 project engineers and 9 project managers works together from IJmuiden on challenging emergency power installations for data center projects. You combine an analytical eye with decisiveness to coordinate various tasks, investigate, and solve complex technical puzzles. The Project Manager and Project Engineer work very closely together within the project; this is truly a tandem where the Project Engineer focuses on technology and the Project Manager focuses primarily on planning, finance, and customer relations. As a Project Engineer within Zwart Techniek, you need a result-oriented and structured approach. Together, we strive for high quality by focusing well on the details, but also by regularly zooming out and overseeing the bigger picture. By ensuring tight planning and clear communication, you can make smart decisions to ensure projects run successfully.

With your strong communication skills, you know how to clearly inform and advise stakeholders, both internal and external, regarding options, progress, and solutions. You are the driving force behind the projects and a valuable link within the team, with a sharp eye for quality and a focus on achieving goals.

• Drawing up a clear and well-thought-out plan of approach from the sales file, in the area of work instructions and test plans, to direct stakeholders.

• Thinking ahead and taking into account the necessary resources and time planning to successfully complete the project.

• Assessing electrotechnical diagrams and mechanical drawings, together with specifying technical requests within emergency power installations.

• Working closely with the purchasing, engineering, and commissioning departments to achieve perfect alignment.

• Maintaining sharp insight into the interfaces between these departments and ensuring they work together smoothly so that all requirements and quality standards can be met.

• You have the talent to organize a project tightly, tackle problems immediately, and quickly come up with effective solutions.

• Thinking in terms of systems and structure is in your nature, and you combine this with the motivation to achieve results and lead teams to success.

• Occasional visits to project locations domestically and abroad for inventory and coordination, but mostly remotely.

• HBO (Higher Professional Education) working and thinking level with a completed degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.

• At least 8 years of experience within a technical project organization, particularly in the field of electrical/energy technology.

• Proactive attitude and the ability to solve technical problems independently.

• Decisive and result-oriented.

• Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.

• Curiosity and responsibility in your work.
