The role

As a data-driven business controller, do you want to be the financial engine behind monitoring and optimizing our cost structure? Do you effortlessly translate figures into sharp advice that keeps departments and management focused? Then we would love to meet you!

The Business Controlling team is part of the Controlling & Analytics department. This department plays a key role at Lidl in the transformation towards an even stronger data-driven organization.

You will join an ambitious team of 8 business controllers. Our goal? To add value by seizing opportunities and tackling risks smartly. Additionally, we provide the specialist departments within Lidl with information and advice to further optimize their processes. Figures do not only show us where we stand, but primarily point the way to opportunities and possibilities so that we can steer purposefully towards the future.

As a financial conscience and strategic business partner in the field of cost controlling, you will be given the space to shape your advice and make a real impact on our results. Your role largely consists of:

  • Cost analysis & reporting: You monitor cost developments, analyze budget and cost variances, and prepare reliable monthly forecasts. You contribute to financial-economic scenarios to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Process & yield improvement: You challenge departments on their cost KPIs. Together with your colleagues, you constantly identify opportunities and (savings) possibilities and continuously look for process optimizations.
  • Analyzing cost developments and translating data into clear management information for (senior) management.
  • Creating forecasts and budgets in consultation with the business.
  • Performing cost-benefit analyses to strictly map out the financial impact and efficiency of new projects in advance.
  • Acting as a critical sparring partner: you initiate improvement proposals and ensure that process improvements are actually implemented.
