Apprentice Energy Supply Technician in Rotterdam

As an Apprentice Energy Supply Technician, you are responsible for performing inspection work, maintenance work, and fault repair work in the technical field of Energy Supply within the Zee Zevenaar Contract Area. The railway has its own energy network, and this is maintained by VolkerRail in these regions. Together with your colleagues from the other disciplines—Signaling, Overhead Lines, and Track—you ensure that the rail in the region is safe and meets all quality requirements. To cause as little inconvenience to passengers as possible, much maintenance takes place at night.

• You will be guided by your buddy (an experienced operator) in performing maintenance work and inspections;

• You will follow various training courses where you will be trained as a specialist;

• You will perform maintenance work and inspections together with your buddy and ensure that everything is neatly recorded digitally;

• Depending on your experience, you will lead technicians and agency technicians;

• You will identify escalations and discuss these with the maintenance coordinator;

• Switching and grounding electrical installations is part of your duties.

• You have a completed MBO 2/3/4 Electrical Engineering education;

  You are flexibly available; a schedule per 4 weeks looks approximately like this;

  • 2 weeks night shift, 1 week on-call duty, 1 week day shift

  • 1 full weekend;

• You have a high sense of responsibility and get enthusiastic about rail infrastructure;

• You reside in the South Netherlands area;

• No driver's license? No problem, we will pay for this for you!

• A one-year contract, followed by a permanent contract if it suits both parties;

• A salary of € 2,824 to € 4,096 per month, depending on age and experience;

• A laptop and phone so that you are, of course, reachable everywhere;

• No fewer than 48 days off; 25 vacation days plus another 23 roster-free days;
