The role
Axians is growing! Due to expansion, we are looking for a Solution Architect Networking for our location in Capelle aan den IJssel. At Axians, the Solution Architect plays an important role, both with customers and internally. As a Solution Architect, you are the trusted advisor to our customers. You immerse yourself in the customer's ambitions and are responsible for designing a roadmap with the right solutions. Internally, you are responsible for setting up and maintaining the reference architecture. The Solution Architect sets the frameworks and translates the customer's vision into a workable architecture.
What you'll do
As a Solution Architect, you are responsible for thoroughly understanding our customers' needs. You translate these needs into detailed concepts and provide the technical content for quotes for both existing and potential clients. Within this process, you place a specific emphasis on the quality and consistency of the quotes.
A key skill in this role is the ability to effectively inventory the requirements and wishes of clients. You then translate these into logical and high-quality recommendations that align with their expectations. You provide both conceptual and technical support and advise both clients and internal teams on the various services offered.
You actively participate in the process of developing quotes and other requests, making crucial choices regarding design and cost calculation. If necessary, you also prepare business cases. As the technical director of the quotes, you ensure precise coordination both within the organization and with external stakeholders.
To keep your knowledge up to date, you participate in internal discussions and follow external training and seminars. You strive for excellence in your field and have a clear ambition to be the best. In short, you are able to translate customer needs into practical solutions and bridge the gap between customer processes and technological solutions.
You know how to use AI tools in a responsible manner to support technical analysis, troubleshooting, and the creation and structuring of technical documentation and designs. You critically assess AI output for technical accuracy and applicability, while taking into account security and the confidentiality of customer information.
Today, you start your day with a qualification meeting for a request from a large customer regarding a new Network Infrastructure in the field of HPE Aruba. Together with the Bid Manager, Client Manager, and Technical Consultant, you discuss the opportunity and jointly determine the Go or No-Go. In the first case, you formulate the common bid strategy. Immediately after this meeting, everyone gets to work on their actions.
Due to your knowledge of the customer and similar issues, you already have a good idea of the possible network architecture, and you discuss this while driving to your next appointment with the Technical Consultant and your counterpart at one of our vendors. Your next appointment is a roadmap session at a customer for whom you are the trusted advisor. During this, you inform the customer based on your vision regarding developments in the field of technology and movements among manufacturers.
You also review a number of relevant references with the customer. Naturally, you allow space for questions and an in-depth dialogue. If possible, you immediately make a number of new appointments, for example, for a reference visit or a meeting with the manufacturer. On the way home, you handle your missed calls from that day, and a colleague helps with targeted advice. At home, you write a brief and concise report of your meeting to inform your customer team. In a video call, you discuss the opportunity with the account manager, who enthusiastically discusses the tactics for the follow-up steps with you.
