Solution Architect IT/OT

In this role, you will receive a contract for 32 to 40 hours per week. Because we trust that you will excel as a Solution Architect, we offer on top of that - based on a 40-hour work week:

The requirements for secure and future-proof IT infrastructures are increasing exponentially due to the rise of cloud, AI, hybrid working, and digitalization. Organizations are becoming more dependent on their networks than ever before. Not only as a technical basis, but as a critical prerequisite for continuity, innovation, and growth.

In industry, the convergence of IT and OT requires strict network segmentation and advanced cybersecurity to protect production processes against cyber threats. In logistics, reliable wireless networks form the basis for AGVs, scanners, and track & trace solutions across multiple locations. In retail, point-of-sale systems, customer Wi-Fi, and inventory management must work together securely, compliantly, and seamlessly within a single integrated infrastructure. Even for business service providers, AI applications, hybrid working, and IP-based building systems place increasingly high demands on performance, availability, and security.

The same applies to all these markets: software-defined infrastructures form the key to a scalable, centrally manageable, and future-proof IT environment. The network is no longer a supporting facility, but the foundation upon which modern organizations build.

As a Solution Architect at Axians, you play a key role in this. As a technical and strategic sparring partner, you help customers within the Business Unit Industry & Business Services translate complex business and digitalization issues into secure, scalable, and future-proof architectures.

You operate at the intersection of business, IT, and OT and know how to bring together customer objectives, technical requirements, and market developments into one clear solution direction. In doing so, you contribute ideas on topics such as networking, security, cloud, datacenter, managed services, and IT/OT integration.

You inventory functional, technical, and business requirements and translate these into concrete architectures that align with the customer's ambitions. Additionally, you lead workshops, roadmap sessions, and architecture sessions in which you combine technical depth with strategic insight. You advise organizations on themes such as cybersecurity, network segmentation, cloud transformation, and software-defined infrastructures, working intensively with sales, vendors, consultants, engineers, and project managers.

You also fulfill an important role within commercial processes. Together with the Client Manager and potentially the bid team, you develop distinctive solution directions and take technical leadership during quotation and tendering processes. You ensure that proposals are not only technically strong but also align with the strategic and commercial objectives of the customer.

Throughout the entire process, you safeguard the quality of the architecture: from the initial customer conversations and strategic explorations to solution design, quotation, and final implementation. You can switch effortlessly between executive level and technical specialists and gain energy from solving complex challenges where technology, business strategy, and innovation converge.

• Advising customers on networking, security, cloud, datacenter, and managed services solutions;
• Leading roadmap, architecture, and advisory workshops;
• Inventorying business, IT, and technical issues at customers;
• Designing complex infrastructure and network architectures;
• Developing solution designs, calculations, business cases, and technical proposals;
• Being responsible for the technical quality, uniformity, and feasibility of quotations;
• Acting as a trusted advisor for customers, Sales, Consultants, Engineers, and Project Managers;
• Identifying market developments and contributing to innovation and the further development of our services.

You possess strong analytical skills, oversee the bigger picture, and know how to convert complex issues into concrete architectures and solution directions. You are a strong communicator, customer-oriented, entrepreneurial, and feel comfortable in an advisory role towards customers at a tactical and strategic level.
