You have a vmbo Basis/Kader diploma or an Entreeopleiding Level 1 diploma
You are interested in everything related to technology
You are a persevering person
You think it would be great to combine working and learning
You enjoy seeing results
You are curious and eager to learn new things during your training
You enjoy working together with others in a team environment
You live in the Netherlands and possess a valid residence permit that allows you to work and study
You speak the Dutch language sufficiently, both orally and in writing. Lessons at school are given in Dutch and good communication is also important on the work floor
You register yourself at an MBO or HBO school. VDL does not arrange this, but we are happy to think along with you and can advise you on suitable courses and schools

The role

For the start of the new school year in August/September 2026, we are looking for BBL Production Technology Welding Employees Level 2. Working with metal, that is something for you. As a basic welder, you work with various welding machines but primarily with your hands. You create strong connections between two pieces of metal. You receive assignments from your supervisor and carry them out independently. Which weld you must make, you read on a drawing. You work accurately in doing so so that you truly deliver professional craftsmanship. If you don't know for a moment, you ask an experienced colleague. At school, you will get to know the various welding machines and techniques. You learn to handle the machines, your team members, and the environment safely.

During your Apprenticeship training at VDL, you will be guided by an experienced practical supervisor. You will work four days a week at VDL and go to school one day a week. VDL pays for your training AND a full-time salary. Once you have your diploma in hand? Then a permanent contract is ready for you immediately, or you can choose to further develop yourself within one of our VDL companies.
