The role

Thinking ahead, coordinating, and arranging - that is where you excel.

As a work preparer/mechanical engineer in our Short-term Projects (SPO) department, you are the link between design and execution. You translate plans into practice. With your technical insight and organizational skills, you ensure that everything is ready, from material lists to working drawings, so that our technicians can get to work safely, efficiently, and with confidence.

You work on diverse utility projects - from the sustainability of a school building to the renovation of a technical room in a healthcare institution. Switching gears quickly, coming up with smart solutions, and collaborating closely with your team: that is what you are strong in.

You bring structure, technology, and decisiveness together
You work accurately, are technically proficient, and always maintain the overview. You switch easily between preparation and execution, between people and technology. You bring calm to the process and ensure that everyone can do their job well, thanks to your preparation.

What you'll do

What you will be doing in this role

  • On Monday mornings, you start with a good project meeting (with a fresh cup of coffee to go with it). You coordinate planning, progress, and technical details with your team, in an atmosphere where collaboration is pleasant and goal-oriented.

  • You translate technical designs, specifications, and client wishes into clear work packages that our technicians can get to work with.

  • You ensure everything is on location on time: from installation lists to materials, you arrange the procurement and maintain the overview.

  • You keep a sharp eye on the planning and intervene when necessary. Delays? Not with you around.

  • You regularly check how things are progressing on-site: is the quality correct, is everything running as planned, where is adjustment needed?

  • You have a lot of contact with colleagues and partners: whether you are coordinating with a project manager, supplier, or technician. You ensure that everyone knows where they stand.

  • You think along about how things can be even smarter and better, from process improvement to technical innovations.

  • And when the work week is over? Then we toast together to a successful job in our bar.

This is what we find important

Together we work on complex technical projects. Only the best is good enough and this is what we have in common: responsibility, pride, respect, commitment, an eye for quality  and a heart for teamwork. Your pleasant way of working makes every project a success.

To be able to do this well, it is important that you possess the right background, experience, and attitude. Do you recognize yourself in the following profile?

  • You have completed an MBO or HBO education in Mechanical Engineering

  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience as a work preparer or engineer within large-scale utility construction.

  • You know your way around programs such as Syntess, Vabi, AutoCAD, and Revit.

  • You are not only technically strong, but also communicatively skilled – you switch smoothly with colleagues, suppliers, and other partners.

  • You work in a structured manner, think analytically, and have a proactive attitude: you see what can be improved and take action.

  • And at least as importantly: you recognize yourself in our core values mentioned above.

This is what ITN offers you

A good salary and excellent conditions – that is a matter of course for us. But perhaps even more importantly: you will join a committed, medium-sized family business where people truly stand ready for one another. We invest in your growth. Whether you are looking for professional deepening, want to learn new techniques, or want to develop your soft skills – at ITN, you get the space for it. And besides work? Then there is time for relaxation with colleagues: from Friday afternoon drinks to the annual BBQ, the Sinterklaas celebration, or our spectacular Kick-off party.

You will notice this by, among other things

  • Much attention to personal development and training opportunities

  • Appreciation for your efforts

  • Profit sharing

  • Good pension scheme

  • Company fitness scheme
