The role

At Bij Van Oers, working in the Audit team means more than just checking. We know what is happening with our clients and understand their organization, market, and challenges. This allows us to deliver audits that matter. Just do it: professional, careful, and with an eye for the person behind the numbers.

We stay ahead by smartly applying current laws and regulations, data, and technology. In doing so, we help organizations gain their edge and build trust in financial information.

Within our audit practice, as an Audit Supervisor, you will get the space to further develop your technical knowledge, leadership, and client-oriented approach. This is how you make an impact with clients and within our team.

What you'll do

As an Audit Supervisor, you are an important link within our audit practice. You perform complex audit work independently, guide colleagues in their development, and are a full partner for clients, (senior) managers, and external accountants. You safeguard the quality of our services and ensure that audit engagements are carried out efficiently and according to plan.

A glimpse of your tasks:

  • You perform complex audit work independently and take responsibility for the quality of the execution;

  • In consultation with the (senior) manager or external accountant, you determine the audit approach for your engagements;

  • You identify important discussion points and risks, draft findings for the auditor's report, and discuss these with the manager, senior manager, or external accountant;

  • You perform the first review of draft annual accounts and check the quality and completeness of files;

  • You guide, coach, and support junior, staff, and senior colleagues in their daily activities;

  • You communicate proactively regarding the progress of audit engagements to managers and external accountants;

  • You are responsible for work during the completion phase of the audit, including file completion, tax reconciliation, and the second reading;

  • Together with colleagues, you maintain contact with clients during the execution of engagements. This includes coordinating schedules, monitoring deadlines, and monitoring the timely delivery of PBC documentation;

  • You follow technical developments closely and translate these into practical solutions for clients and colleagues;

  • You provide presentations and knowledge sessions during internal and external technical meetings.

You are analytically strong, quality-oriented, and know how to distinguish the essential from the non-essential. You feel responsible for your clients, your team, and the quality of the final product. You are also a strong communicator and have a proactive work attitude. Additionally, you get energy from guiding colleagues and dare to be critical when necessary.

Furthermore, we ask:

This is what you can count on

With us, you are allowed to ‘just do it’. Saying what you do and doing what you say, that is how we work at Van Oers. We communicate clearly and honestly; we don't blow our own trumpet. Together with colleagues, partners, and clients, we roll up our sleeves.
