The role
40 hours, Schiphol-Oost
As a Handling Controller at Transavia, you will have the chance to play a crucial role in the daily flight operation. When a flight deviates from the schedule, you are the link between the handling parties at our airports and Transavia. Together with our handlers, you ensure that we can deliver the best service. Do you want to make a difference at the moment when one of our flights runs just a little differently than planned? Then we are looking for you!
What you'll do
In your new job as a Handling Controller, you will ensure good coordination with our handlers during disruptions in our operation. Together with the team at the Operations Control Center, you will take the best possible decisions and ensure that the various handling parties know exactly what is expected of them. At the same time, they can rely on you to make decisions that they can actually fulfill.
You are joining at a moment when the team is in full development. You will actively contribute ideas regarding the further development of the role and how we build a strong, well-collaborating team together.
Our fleet will be replaced in the coming years by two new types of aircraft, namely the Airbus A320neo and Airbus A321neo. This transition is already in full swing. In the coming years, we will make our entire fleet more sustainable, and this represents an exciting and beautiful challenge for the Passenger & Operations Control domain.
Monitoring flight processes and possible disruptions;
Developing and documenting possible scenarios to resolve potential disruptions as effectively as possible;
Registering events, so that we can continue to learn and improve continuously;
Working in rotating shifts (including night shifts), spread across 7 days per week.
Where will you land?
You will land within the Passenger & Operations Control (P&OC) domain. Within this domain, we are responsible for planning from 48 hours before departure. We ensure the execution of the established flight schedule and all associated resources. In the event of unexpected disruptions, we continuously optimize the schedule and weigh interventions as integrally as possible.
Within the domain, you will join the Passenger & Ground team. This team ensures that passengers are well assisted during their journey in the event of disruptions. On one hand, this is through monitoring processes and information provision on the day of execution, and on the other, through the management of our service partners who handle all customer contact for us.
In addition to yourself, the team consists of a Team Lead, 4 Passenger Controllers, 8 Handling Controllers, and 4 Customer Service Specialists. Furthermore, during your shifts, you will work closely with the Duty Managers and Operations Controllers of the OCC.
The right baggage as a Handling Controller
A sense of humor, because in addition to hard work, there is also laughter;
Haven't ticked all the boxes, but are you enthusiastic? Even then, we would love to see your response.
Since 1965, we have been making flying accessible to everyone. Our passengers enjoy an annual flying holiday, visiting family abroad, and discovering new destinations in Europe and North Africa. We do this together, with more than 3,000 colleagues. In the air in the cockpit and the cabin, and on the ground with the technical service and in the office. Together we strive for a good journey, a truly good journey. Now and in the future.
