• HBO or WO level of work and thinking.
• At least 10 years of leadership experience within complex operational organizations.
• Experience in aviation security, airport operations, airline operations, or a comparable 24/7 environment.
• Demonstrable experience in managing large teams and multiple management layers.
• A proven track record in operational improvements and performance management.
• Strong financial insight and the ability to translate operational performance into contractual results.
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages.

As Senior Operations Manager Aviation, you hold ultimate responsibility for the daily management, further professionalization, and performance improvement of our airport security operation at Schiphol. A complex 24/7 environment where safety, compliance, service, and operational performance converge every day.

You are visibly present in the operation and ensure that plans do not remain on paper, but lead to demonstrable improvements in performance, productivity, quality, and results. In this role, success is not measured by analyses or presentations, but by the results that you realize together with your management team on the shop floor.

• You are responsible for the daily operation within Security Lanes, Surveillance, the Badge Center, and the Security Control Center.
• You translate strategic objectives and contractual agreements into concrete results.
• You manage the optimal deployment of people and resources, productivity, and operational performance.
• You ensure that planning and operations work together as a single chain and translate passenger volumes and operational demand into an effective deployment of people and resources.
• You realize improvements with a demonstrable impact on quality, efficiency, and contractual results.
• You develop managers and supervisors and strengthen a culture of ownership and results.
• You maintain strong relationships with Schiphol, chain partners, and other stakeholders.
• You guarantee that safety, security, and compliance always come first.

You are an experienced operational leader who gains energy from the dynamics of a complex 24/7 operation. You combine strategic insight with a strong focus on execution and results, and you are visibly present where it happens. You use data to make decisions, but remain involved until improvements are actually realized.
