The role
Within the Naval organization Industry, the Production Engineering department is responsible for the assembly and testing of (sub)units for (radar) systems.
What you'll do
In close cooperation with development, logistics, and production, the Production Engineer determines the optimal production method, records it in PLM and ERP systems, and maintains it.
For new designs, participation in the design process occurs at an early stage to assess the designs for production aspects such as manufacturability, repairability, consistency, clarity, and processability. Once the detailed construction design is ready, it is used as input to create the final production structures, workflows, task times, production documentation, and special tools.
Afterwards, the workshop is guided during the production of the first prototype systems. A PRR (production readiness review) and FAI (first article inspection) are always performed by the Production Engineer together with all stakeholders. In this way, we safeguard the quality of our products and their associated processes.
Furthermore, the Production Engineer is a technical point of contact for production and forms the link between the Workcells and Engineering. The Production Engineer also writes change proposals to rectify deficiencies in documentation or product/process.
The task package covers both newly to be developed products and standard products. Repairs and upgrades are also guided by the Production Engineer. Initiating and participating in improvement activities is also an important part of the function.
