The role

Location: Hengelo, Netherlands

What you'll do

Your week as an improvement QC employee looks varied. Every day begins with a briefing moment with the department's QA manager. Together, you discuss the work and distribute a number of tasks.

Every Monday, you join the Q-meeting with the department's QC employees to see where and how you can provide support. Think of supporting/handling First Article Inspections, writing Non-Conformities, and resolving problems causing a production job to be on hold.

As an improvement QC employee, you are co-responsible for the ongoing improvement projects. You can both lead these yourself and maintain visibility on the status of other ongoing projects. It is also expected that you can accelerate progress in this regard.

In the event of production problems where a trend is observed, you are the first point of contact for the QC employees. You then assess whether a QPS or a full 8D (or any potential impact analysis) must be set up to tackle the problem. You can also initiate this yourself.

Furthermore, you support QA with handling internal and external customer complaints, PRRs, and discussions regarding the progress of the focus list for delivery in cooperation with logistics and APRU managers.

Naturally, it is expected of you that you can handle other matters that arise on a daily basis, that you are stress-resistant, and can multitask while helping the team maintain high quality.

For all matters, you report directly to the department's QA manager.

About your future job

The main tasks are:

  • Supporting production with questions regarding product quality.
  • Handling external complaints arising from the production process.
  • Performing trend analyses, identifying the most important Non-Quality Costs (rejection/problems), and taking initiative to implement the improvement process.
  • Instructing employees regarding the interpretation and application of the applicable quality procedures, guidelines, and standards.
  • Monitoring and/or leading the progress of the improvement projects.

Why you are a good match

We are looking for a new colleague who:

  • A completed technical MBO-4/HBO education, preferably in electronics/mechatronics.
  • Has experience or affinity with quality management/improvement.
  • Sees it as a challenge to make a positive impact on the improvement of our products.
  • Is prepared to follow relevant training (e.g., IPC-A-600) regarding the position.
  • Is a go-getter, result-oriented, pragmatic, and a team player.
  • Is able to read technical product documentation (TPD).
  • Has good communication skills and is able to communicate well at multiple levels with operators, production engineers, and with internal and external customers.
  • Has affinity with working in a high-tech production environment.
  • Is stress-resistant.
  • Has sufficient knowledge of the English language to understand documentation and standards.
