The role

Your energy in the plus

As a Grid Coordinator at Stedin, you ensure a safe, reliable, and future-proof energy grid every day. A role with impact and plenty of freedom.

Why working at Stedin gives you energy:

  • Plenty of freedom to work flexibly and independently.

  • A responsible role at the heart of the energy supply.

  • Varied work: active both indoors and outdoors.

Work to be proud of

As a High Voltage Primary Grid Coordinator, you contribute to a safe and undisturbed energy supply for more than 2 million customers. Your job in a nutshell? Managing and operating a complex system landscape. You are responsible for a number of transmission stations at Stedin, where not only the station and the assets at the station, but also the cables between them, become your responsibility. This includes performing standby and fault repair duties.

A day as a Grid Coordinator:

  • You start at the office or at home with a meeting together with the other High Voltage Primary Grid Coordinators.

  • After this meeting, you have a number of switching and work plans (execution plans) that you must review;

  • Afterwards, you head out and perform inspections and analyses at one of the high voltage projects.

  • After lunch, you work out a proposal for an improvement opportunity in your region to discuss it with the Asset Management department.

  • You conclude your workday with an analysis of a recent outage and monitor the progress of the recovery measures resulting from outages, maintenance, or investment projects.

Here is how you recharge

All financial employment conditions at a glance, so you know exactly what to expect:

  • A gross monthly salary of up to € 6,300 (based on 40 hours), 24.5 vacation days, and pension accrual with ABP, where we pay 70% of the premium. Are you fully trained as an Operational Installation Responsible and have you obtained your designation? Then you can grow to € 7,200 gross per month (40 hours).

  • On top of your salary, you receive a personal budget of 24% (including 8% holiday allowance). You choose what to do with the budget: for example, extra salary or (up to max. 35.5) extra vacation days. You can see how it works in our calculation tool.

  • € 700 (gross) annually to spend on your own energy, for example, for your sports membership or your new sportswear.

On top of that, there is this:

  • You will receive a company car from us. This way, you are in the driver's seat of your own work! In addition to your car, you can also use a public transport card for commuting and business travel. With this card, you travel second class at Stedin's expense.

  • Modern home working facilities and a home working allowance. You work 40% from home or the office and 60% outside in the field.

  • Your development is central: attending events with colleagues and following training and education. This is how you get the best out of yourself.

With these qualities, you will grow here

You take initiative when it counts and remain calm under pressure. With your analytical skills, you connect stakeholders and ensure supported solutions. Quality is your priority, and you like to contribute to the continuity and safety of our energy supply. Creative challenges? You tackle those with confidence.

Furthermore, you have:

  • A completed MBO-4 education in an (electrical) technical direction (required for HV OIV designation).

  • HBO working and thinking level, demonstrated through experience, assessment, or a completed HBO degree (Electrical Engineering or Energy Technology). Do you not yet have an HBO diploma but do have the MBO education, technical experience, and ambition? Then we are happy to look at possibilities to let you grow.

  • Experience with the construction and management of electrical infrastructures.

Take the step toward your next challenge
We look forward to meeting you.

This is also good to know:

  • A motivation letter is allowed, but not mandatory.

  • A live assessment is part of the selection process.

In their own words

About the company & team

You will join a committed team where collaboration and a sense of responsibility are central. Colleagues enjoy sparring with one another and you will be warmly received as a new sparring partner. You work from home, the office, and from project locations within your area. Additionally, you are often on the road in the field to keep the grid in optimal condition.

On Wednesday mornings, a weekly two-hour meeting with the Primary Technology team is scheduled, in which we discuss current matters, share knowledge, and make decisions together. Additionally, we seek each other out when necessary, spontaneously or planned, and stay up-to-date through live sessions, knowledge sharing, and regular mutual coordination. This is how we ensure we stay connected, strengthen each other, and always remain sharp on safety and quality.
