The role
Do you enjoy being on the road, working independently, and do you love variety? As a Surveyor Agri, no two workdays are the same. You will visit various customer locations in and around the ports of Amsterdam and Rotterdam to perform inspections and sampling on different agricultural products and foodstuffs.
For our Natural Resources Agricultural Commodities (Agri) department, we are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who is eager to roll up their sleeves and take responsibility for their work.
As a Surveyor Agri, you are the eyes of SGS on location. You will be on the road frequently, independently performing inspections, checks, and sampling for various customers in and around the ports of Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Within Agri, we work with Agricultural Commodities: agricultural products and foodstuffs that are stored, transported, and traded. Think, for example, of grains, vegetable oils, and cocoa.
You will inspect and sample these products on behalf of SGS. Through your activities, you contribute to the quality assurance of the goods you inspect.
What you'll do
- You visit various customers and locations in and around the ports of Amsterdam and Rotterdam;
- You perform inspections and sampling on various agricultural products and foodstuffs;
- You work with products such as grains, vegetable oils, and cocoa, among others;
- You perform quality controls and carefully record your findings;
- You ensure correct reporting of your inspections and sampling;
- You work independently and are responsible for the careful execution of your activities;
- You have regular contact with customers and colleagues;
- You work according to the applicable safety guidelines.
You work in a 3-shift system. As a result, you will have varying working hours, and it is important that you are flexible in your availability.
Your responsibilities
This is not a position where you work in the same place every day. One time you are performing sampling, the next time you are busy with an inspection or quality control at a customer. The locations and products you work with also vary.
The position therefore suits someone who enjoys practical work, works independently, is frequently on the road, and takes responsibility.
