Database Specialist (40 hours)

• Salary: €4,100 to €5,000 gross per month (based on 40 hours per week), depending on knowledge and experience.

• A 6-month contract with a view to permanent employment.

• 26 vacation days based on 40 hours (with the possibility to purchase more), extra leave for anniversaries, one day off per year for volunteering, and 8% holiday allowance.

What will you do?
As a database specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the continuity and performance of our databases. You will work with systems within the medical sector for which 24/7 availability, high reliability, and fast response times are essential. With your knowledge of SQL Server, you will ensure that everything runs smoothly, from maintenance to query optimization and from monitoring to troubleshooting, both actively and proactively.

A glimpse of the duties

• Administering databases (e.g., backup & recovery, index maintenance, and high availability).

• Actively monitoring databases, including both high-level metrics such as CPU and I/O, as well as query behavior and performance (e.g., using Extended Events and Query Store), and taking action where necessary.

• Optimizing queries (e.g., query structure, use of the Query Optimizer, index design, and statistics design).

• Collaborating with Outsystems developers where you will apply your SQL Server expertise.

• Supporting new releases of our applications.
