MSSQL Database Administrator

You are an experienced database professional who enjoys collaborating, thinking ahead, and taking initiative. Additionally, you recognize yourself in the following profile:

• HBO education or HBO working and thinking level
• Extensive experience in setting up, configuring, and managing complex database environments
• Specialist and multi-year experience with MSSQL databases
• Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with automation
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
• Team player with ownership and a sense of responsibility
• Innovative, curious, and market-aware

• Good command of the Dutch language is required for this function/ Proficiency in Dutch (spoken and written) is required for this role.

Within Private Cloud Application Optimisation at KPN, we are looking for an experienced MSSQL Database Administrator who gets energy from complex database environments, innovation, and automation. In this role, you are an important link in continuously improving and future-proofing our database services for internal and external customers.

As an MSSQL Database Administrator, you will work closely within the Database domain with the Product Owner, architects, fellow administrators, and line management. You move smoothly between operational and tactical activities and actively contribute to the development of our database services.

Your responsibilities:

• Managing, optimizing, and renewing complex MSSQL database environments
• Collaborating on technical innovation and the further development of the Database portfolio
• Actively contributing to and driving automation within the database service
• Acting as a point of contact for customers and stakeholders
• Advising at various organizational levels on database solutions
• Translating customers' business objectives into concrete technical actions
• Collaborating with colleagues within the SQL domain and Tooling & Automation to continuously increase the level of automation
• You are visible, take ownership, and represent the database service with conviction and craftsmanship.
