Experience with engineering, calculation, or technical quotes is a must;
A few years of relevant experience within a technical project environment;
Technically analytical and able to understand complex issues;
Strong in planning, organizing, and collaborating;

Nice to have

MBO+/HBO working and thinking level, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Maritime Technology, or similar; or related;
Knowledge of PLC/SCADA and/or industrial or maritime automation;
Good communication skills in Dutch and English;

The role

Royal IHC designs and builds advanced vessels and equipment for the dredging, offshore, mining, and defense markets. Our projects are characterized by high technical complexity, an international scope, and a major impact on the maritime industry.

For our Maritime Automation department, we are looking for a Proposal Engineer. In this role, you form the technical link between customer requirements, engineering, and sales. You translate customer requests into technical solutions and support the preparation of competitive and technically feasible quotes.

What you'll do

As a Proposal Engineer, you are responsible for analyzing customer inquiries and developing technical solutions during the quotation phase. You work closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and other disciplines to arrive at a technically and commercially strong proposal.

You are part of multidisciplinary project teams and ensure the technical substantiation of quotes, cost calculations, and risk analyses.

What will you do?

Analyzing customer inquiries, specifications, and tender documentation;
Translating customer requirements into technical solutions within Maritime Automation;
Preparing and developing technical quotes and calculations;
Supporting cost price calculations and budget estimates;
Coordinating with Engineering, Procurement, and other internal stakeholders;
Assessing technical risks and the feasibility of solutions;
Supporting the determination of the optimal technical configuration;
Contributing to the preparation of project schedules and scope descriptions;
Recording and managing quote and calculation documentation;
Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and working methods;
Working in accordance with SHEQ guidelines and safety standards.
