Contact Person: Kira Hornbostel
The role
As Chief Engineer, you ensure the technical integrity and maturity of the complete vehicle.
You define and safeguard the overall vehicle architecture and its cross-domain integration so that the mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software systems work together as one coherent product.
You lead critical technical decisions and resolve complex vehicle-level issues. You ensure the vehicle meets its performance, safety, quality, cost, and production requirements. You drive the product toward a robust, manufacturable, and production-ready vehicle.
What you'll do
- Own the technical definition and integrity of the complete vehicle, from concept and system architecture through development, validation, production launch, and product lifecycle
- Act as the ultimate technical decision authority for the vehicle, leading architectural decisions and resolving cross-disciplinary technical conflicts between mechanical, electrical, software, controls, safety, manufacturing, and other engineering domains
- Own the technical maturity of the product toward production, identifying critical technical risks, driving their resolution, and ensuring that the vehicle reaches a defined level of design maturity, validation, and industrial readiness
- Provide technical leadership to the engineering organization and project teams, setting technical direction, challenging proposed solutions, and ensuring that engineering decisions are based on sound system-level reasoning and evidence
- Ensure effective vehicle-level verification and validation, confirming that the integrated vehicle fulfils its requirements and that interfaces and interactions between mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software systems have been adequately verified
- Ensure that safety, cybersecurity, reliability, diagnostics, maintainability, and regulatory requirements are considered at vehicle level and appropriately reflected in the system architecture and engineering process
