DevOps Engineer

• You will build a new platform together with the team.

• Portbase is working on a transition towards working within scrum teams based on the T-Shaped model, which aligns with your ambitions or experience.

• You will work with the latest tools and techniques.

As a Java specialist with strong DevOps (including Observability) skills, you bring the required experience and knowledge of the endless possibilities of the Java ecosystem. You will be responsible for programming, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing the infrastructure. This is to contribute, on the one hand, to the automation of Ops and, on the other hand, to push the boundaries within the supply chain & logistics environment to create the best practices. We would love for you to share your experience and energy and not be limited to certain techniques, so that we can grow together!

Engineers at Portbase work according to the T-Shaped model, where you have a defined area of expertise in your own field, but also broad knowledge in other areas of expertise.

You will be part of the Platform Team within Portbase; they are responsible for improving and further expanding our current systems. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to continuously improve the platform architecture. You will improve, apply, and implement observability for Portbase. You will get the opportunity to work with and introduce new tools and techniques that can enrich our tech stack.

• Three years of work experience in a Java environment;

• Experience with Observability tools such as Grafana or Newrelic; 

• Interest in learning more about Infrastructure as Code (IaC) AWS;

• Interest in learning more about AWS services such as: Fargate, EC2, Route 53, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway, secret management, CodeDeploy;

• Experience working in Scrum/Agile;

• Interest in learning more about executing and implementing application and infrastructure principles;

• Interest in learning more about CI/CD, blue/green deployment, and Terraform;

• Good knowledge of Opentelemetry;  

• Team player, open to feedback, and able to share knowledge.
