Medior Platform Engineer OpenShift

To fill this role successfully, you have at least:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with software development in Go and/or Python.
• Demonstrable experience with Kubernetes, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Experience with observability solutions such as Grafana.
• Knowledge of Linux, networking, and storage within Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

As a Medior Platform Engineer OpenShift, you will work on the development and further development of our managed OpenShift platform. You will not only build clusters, but primarily the functionality around them: automation, self-service, security, observability, and platform services that allow development teams to work independently and reliably. We are not looking for a classic administrator who primarily performs manual changes. We are looking for an engineer who treats infrastructure as software and automates as much as possible.

In this role:

• You develop and manage OpenShift and Kubernetes platform functionality;
• You automate your platform processes using, among others, GitOps, Argo CD, and Ansible;
• You develop platform software and tooling, for example in Go or Python;
• You build and maintain Kubernetes Operators, Controllers, and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs);
• You develop self-service functionality for development teams;
• You contribute to architectural choices and technical standards;
• You build and integrate PaaS building blocks, such as databases, secrets management, container registries, and caching;
• You think along about how we can make the platform simpler, more reliable, and better scalable.

You get energy from automating and continuously look for ways to make platforms smarter, more stable, and simpler. You are curious about how systems work under the hood and enjoy diving into technical issues. In doing so, you work independently, but also actively seek collaboration with colleagues.
