The role
Eurofins Scientific is a world-leading life sciences company that supports organizations with high-quality laboratory analyses and expert advice. With innovative technologies and profound expertise in, among others, food, environment, and pharmaceuticals, Eurofins plays a key role in improving safety, health, and quality worldwide.
In recent years, Eurofins has built a new LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) for the Food and Environment business lines. Analytico BeNeLux has been selected as one of the five pilot labs in this ambitious program. The final developments are now taking place and the new LIMS (eLIMS-NG) is currently being rolled out in Barneveld and Nazareth. After the go-live, Amsterdam and the smaller satellite locations will quickly follow. In addition to the LIMS, a new customer portal is also being rolled out that integrates seamlessly with eLIMS-NG.
What you'll do
As an IT Support Engineer, you are the first point of contact for end users for both questions, disruptions, or explanations regarding this new LIMS system and the related software. Through your knowledge and available documentation, you know how to resolve much yourself; where this is not the case, you dive into it yourself or ask the 2nd and 3rd line experts for help to find a solution together.
You are curious and enjoy searching for answers, you like to know how the daily operation runs, and you do not hesitate to go into the lab to seek out and speak with your end users. This allows you to learn how the end user uses the system so that you can personally make priority assessments regarding issues, whom to approach, where an issue might lie, etc.
You also document solutions so that your knowledge is recorded. You also provide useful input for the development team to discuss where things in the software can be improved, as you have the best view of how the operation actually runs.
In addition to supporting the company-specific software, you also do not mind lending a hand occasionally for infra or workplace management (e.g., hardware issues/replacement, Microsoft Office questions) if the situation arises.
You are part of an enthusiastic and dynamic team; you also work together with the corporate teams that develop and support eLIMS-NG. Communication in both Dutch and English should therefore not be a problem for you.
Job content
- Independently handling first and second-line IT issues;
- Prioritizing and arbitrating incoming questions, resolving where possible, and escalating to the correct 2nd and 3rd line where necessary;
- Mastering our (specific) business software and business processes;
- Handling infra/workplace management issues in exceptional cases;
- Communicating with a friendly attitude, but also daring to speak up when necessary;
- Communicating pleasantly, but also professionally, both verbally and in writing;
- Being able to be flexible and able to improvise in a timely manner so that the customer is 'really' helped;
What do we offer you?
If you meet the profile above and are interested in an informal, involved, and pleasant working atmosphere, we look forward to receiving your CV and motivation. For more questions, you can contact Calvin Pohlman - Corporate Recruiter - calvin.pohlman@sc.eurofinseu.com
