The role
As a Senior Consultant Sustainability, you help organizations navigate the complex and rapidly changing landscape of sustainability issues. You advise clients, perform qualitative and quantitative analyses, and take responsibility for independent workstreams within various assignments. You will get the opportunity to work on diverse sustainability themes such as climate, energy transition, and biodiversity, but also, for example, circular economy, human rights, and sustainable procurement.
In addition, you help clients apply developments in sustainability laws and regulations and international frameworks to strategy and business operations. You oversee the connection between these developments and support organizations in translating new requirements into concrete priorities, policies, processes, and actions. In doing so, you look beyond compliance alone and help clients use regulation as a starting point for strategic choices.
You combine broad knowledge of sustainability with specific expertise in one or more themes. You bring structure to complex issues and translate analyses and developments into clear advice and concrete courses of action for clients. Depending on the assignment, you also support organizations in developing and implementing strategies, roadmaps, and transition plans.
In addition to our work for clients, we make plenty of room for connecting with one another. We organize an annual off-site with an overnight stay and winter sports via KPMG. We also come together throughout the year for Christmas dinners and activities outside of work, such as padel. We believe it is important to build a close bond within our team. Therefore, we make room for personal attention and involvement, even outside of work.
What you'll do
- Advising clients on sustainability strategies and transition plans and supporting them in translating these into concrete objectives, roadmaps, and implementation.
- Identifying and prioritizing sustainability risks, opportunities, impacts, and dependencies within the organization and value chain.
- Contributing specialist knowledge on one or more themes, such as climate, energy, biodiversity and nature, human rights, circular economy, or sustainable supply chains.
- Advising clients on relevant sustainability laws and regulations, including the CSRD and specific ESRSs, CSDDD, EUDR, ESPR, and other relevant regulations.
- Independently performing and managing qualitative and quantitative analyses.
- Independently managing workstreams and monitoring the quality, progress, and planning of projects.
- Preparing and facilitating interviews, workshops, client meetings, and steering committees.
- Drafting clear and persuasive analyses, advice, reports, and presentations for clients and other stakeholders.
- Guiding junior consultant colleagues and contributing to their substantive and professional development.
- Contributing to the development of propositions, client relationships, and commercial opportunities within the sustainability team.
