In short
Have you ever flown with us and wondered what happens behind—and under—the scenes to make every flight run smoothly? At KLM Component Services, we ensure that aircraft parts are always available and repaired in a timely manner, not only for KLM but also for international customers such as China Eastern, Qantas, and Air Canada.
As a Pricing & Business Manager, you play an important commercial and analytical role in translating customer inquiries into suitable proposals. Do you dare to take on the challenge of converting customer requests into well-founded and profitable proposals? Then we would love to tell you more.
What will you do?
As a Pricing & Business Manager within Commercial Operations, you are responsible for the financial and operational substantiation of our "Powered By The Hour" contract offers for both new and existing customers, within and outside the AFKL group. In this role, you dive into data, costs, and contracts to arrive at sharp analyses, realistic forecasts, and well-founded pricing proposals.
You are responsible for, among other things:
- Analyzing Request for Proposals (RFPs) and translating them into well-founded commercial proposals. You map out current and future costs, risks, and assumptions and incorporate these into a suitable pricing strategy. In doing so, you work closely with colleagues from across the organization, including Procurement, Sales, and Logistics.
- Performing margin and contract analyses on existing customers to gain insight into returns, deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Initiating and leading improvement projects within the department, for example to improve analyses, design smarter processes, or increase the quality of the output.
- Driving the development of tools for cost forecasting and pricing, in collaboration with Big Data, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
- Providing substantive support during negotiations with customers.
Where will you land?
You will be located in hangar 14 at Schiphol Oost: a unique working environment where you literally work among the aircraft and experience the dynamics of the operation every day. A place where technology, logistics, and aviation come together.
Within KLM Component Services, you will be part of the Commercial Operations team, which focuses on improving the results of Engineering & Maintenance. Together with your colleagues, you are the driving force behind the strategic and tactical maintenance of customer relationships and contracts. The CCBM team is a small team with diverse backgrounds and expertise where collaboration, growth, and impact are central.
Your profile
You are analytically strong and feel at home in a role where data, commerce, and operations converge. You enjoy unraveling complex issues, making connections, and arriving at a well-founded proposal based on analyses. You enjoy analyzing and modeling using, among others, Excel and PowerBI. In addition, you work accurately, provide structure, and maintain an overview, even when many stakeholders are involved. You switch easily between different departments and know how to communicate substantive insights clearly.
Furthermore:
- you have a completed HBO or WO degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in a financial or commercial-analytical role
- you have knowledge of customer and supplier contracts;
- you have experience in improving tools and processes;
- you speak and write Dutch and English fluently;
- you are willing to travel internationally.
