The role

The Aircraft maintenance division of Air France-KLM is a leading Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organization. In addition to maintaining our own fleet, we also provide maintenance for aircraft, engines, and components for more than 150 customers. Are you ready to make our organization smarter using Big Data, AI, and data analytics?

What you'll do

As a Predictive Maintenance Engineer, you will work in an innovative and energetic team, precisely at the intersection of aircraft systems, maintenance operations, and IT. Modern aircraft generate increasing amounts of data, and it is your task to convert this data into valuable insights through analyses and optimizations. By combining real-time sensor data with maintenance data, you can predict when aircraft components might fail, even before this leads to operational problems or expensive repairs.

In this role, you will guide the development and adoption of new Predictive Maintenance products for aircraft, from concept to implementation, with the aim of adding value to our maintenance organization. You will be part of a multidisciplinary Agile/SCRUM team consisting of data scientists, data and software engineers, business experts, and end users. The challenge lies in finding patterns in the data that have predictive value by combining your technical domain knowledge with data-driven methods. Subsequently, you will work with the team to convert these insights into a product, guide the implementation process, and support its use and continuous improvement. In addition to our internal development of predictive maintenance, we also evaluate and use products from external suppliers.

Hiring process

Then don't wait any longer, and apply for the 'final boarding call' on 22-10-2026!
You do not need to write a motivation letter; during your online application, we will ask you some targeted questions. Your application procedure consists of two interviews and possibly an assessment, capacity test, and a security clearance.

Candidates who are positively selected for the first interview will receive an email in which they can choose a suitable time slot for the interview themselves. This keeps the process fast and clear, and gives you control over your schedule. You will hear from us within two weeks after the vacancy closes. If there are sufficiently suitable candidates, the vacancy will close earlier.

You can log in at any time via your personal candidate profile. Here you will find the vacancy you applied for - even after it has closed - as well as a clear dashboard with any other ongoing applications within KLM, including status updates. Do you have the drive to grow further in this role? Then we look forward to your application. Did you know that according to research, women are less likely to apply than men if they do not meet all the job requirements? A pity. Because 'the perfect candidate' is, in our view, a myth. So, do you have the drive to still grow in some aspects of this role? We look forward to your application.
