Pay & benefits

What you'll get

  • € 5703 to € 7912 gross per month (scale 13).
  • A 13th month.
  • You will receive an iPhone from us.
  • Possibility for a leased bicycle.
  • Participation in the ABP pension fund.

The role

  • Within SHIFT, you will help build the future discipline of Maintenance Engineering for Construction & Utilities. You will work from a temporary transition organization and develop the maintenance and lifecycle approach with which Schiphol will eventually structurally manage asset performance, risks, and costs.
  • You are joining at a unique moment. Schiphol is renewing asset management, maintenance engineering, and collaboration with maintenance partners. The maintenance strategies, data standards, and lifecycle processes that you develop will help form the basis for the future organization.
  • At Schiphol, we work every day on innovation and improvement. In this way, we keep the Netherlands moving and create thousands of jobs and opportunities for people.

As a Terminal Maintenance Engineer, you will develop and implement the future Maintenance Engineering discipline within Schiphol. You will set up maintenance engineering processes, maintenance concepts, and data-driven ways of working. In doing so, you will work in accordance with asset management principles and ISO 55001, and translate asset performance, risks, and lifecycle data into maintenance, replacement, and investment proposals for the Asset Manager. How exactly you realize this? That is up to you. We trust the way you drive changes and motivate and involve other people in the situation. You will apply your talents to:

What you'll do

  • developing maintenance strategies and lifecycle plans for assets and technical systems.
  • setting up and improving maintenance engineering processes and standards.
  • analyzing and improving asset data.
  • performing FMECA's, criticality analyses, and reliability analyses.
  • drafting maintenance, replacement, and investment proposals.
  • directing technical trade-offs between performance, risks, availability, and costs, and advising asset managers and decision-makers on the future of the assets.
  • connecting maintenance partners, technical experts, planners, asset managers, and the line organization around new maintenance concepts and ways of working, so that improvements are not only developed but also sustainably applied.

Connecting your world

You will join Team Terminal within the SHIFT program, where work is being done on the future-proofing of one of the largest and most complex utility environments in the Netherlands. The assets for which you are responsible must be available 24/7, while renovations, replacements, and expansions take place simultaneously. Additionally, you will play an important role in the transition to a renewed way of asset management and maintenance. The maintenance strategies, lifecycle choices, and ways of working that you help develop will partly form the blueprint for the future organization. In this, the strategic component is of great importance; you translate organizational objectives into policy and vision in relation to assets and maintenance engineering. The challenge, therefore, lies not only in the technology but also in creating support and successfully landing changes with colleagues who work with this daily. It is precisely this combination that makes this role unique: you do not just work on maintenance, but are responsible for the strategy of the discipline and steer towards lifecycle management, asset performance, and investment choices that shape the terminal environment for the coming decades. In this, you work in a data-driven manner and make decisions based on that data.
